Xim Nexus stick drift in some games
« on: 02:53 AM - 02/12/22 »
I’ve been trying to figure how to eliminate stick drift on Apex Legends however I haven’t been successful at all, the in game settings show nearly 0 deadzone and my character is constantly spinning, is there a way to recalibrate the sticks so it doesn’t drift like that. I tried recalibrating through the global settings but I have gotten no results as of that, I even changed my auth controller too to see if it was that but no solution whatsoever. If anyone could help that would be appreciated!

Please go into Calibration and swipe over to the stick visualizations and check to make sure the dot is red when at rest. If so then the drift is coming from somewhere else.

The dot does appear red and after recentering and recaliberating the stick is fine however the moment I move my stick the drift becomes evident, I don't know if its because of the auth controller that im using but its the xbox series x/s controller that is brand new

Yes, check your ingame settings like Od1n suggests. How off center is if the dot in the calibration visualization? Can you move the NEXUS thumbstick in a way to stop the drift?

Yes they do I managed to mitigate some of it by messing around with the inner deadzones however I did notice when I peg the stick it doesn’t fully rest in the middle and I believe that’s what is causing the drift, is there a way where it can align perfectly or no?

Analog sticks never rest at center which is why deadzones are added to games. If you are using Native stick in XIM NEXUS, that means the NEXUS stick is being passed straight to the game. You can run "sensor calibration" in Manager which will recent your stick, but I realize the default Apex settings is to say to set things to minimal in-game deadzone which is the problem here. I'll update the game configuration notes.

Basically, for Apex you will need to use Custom stick curves for XIM NEXUS so that the deadzone you see in Calibration is honored (it isn't for Native). You can change that by enabling Expert configuration and switching to Custom aim. I think the Alpha testers never saw this issue because we all use Custom. Thanks for reporting this.

Ok, I take that back, sorry. Our required Apex legends settings uses default deadzone.

Please try doing the sensor calibration again. This will recenter the stick. Please let us know how that goes.

I just recalibrated it again and now if I peg my stick up and let go of it, it slowly drifts in the upper right, I just decided to use a larger inner deadzone and that fixed my issue. I appreciate all the help.

Ok, so you are already using Custom stick aim? If so, what was your deadzone set to before?

Just do double check, these are now the ingame settings you are using?
Notches refer to clicks with the d-pad from the left to the right. 6 notches equals 6 clicks to the right with the d-pad.

Apex Legends

Use Advanced Look Controls:

Deadzone: 6 notches from left (default)
Outer Threshold: 0 notches from left
Response Curve: 10 notches from left (default)
Yaw Speed: 500
Pitch Speed: 500
Turning Extra Yaw: 0
Turning Extra Pitch: 0
Turning Ramp-up Time: 0
Turning Ramp-up Delay: 0
ADS Yaw Speed: 500
ADS Pitch Speed: 500
ADS Turning Extra Yaw: 0
ADS Turning Extra Pitch: 0
ADS Turning Ramp-up Time: 0
ADS Turning Ramp-up Delay: 0

Yeah I did make sure to triple check the in game settings, I might have gotten a faulty right stick or something I don’t know because when I’m using my regular controller there’s no drift but I did fix it or mitigate I should say by messing around with the inner deadzones

Are you using Custom or Native stick aim with your XIM NEXUS?
