Polling rate console series x 125 vs 1000 or 500
« on: 11:53 PM - 01/10/22 »
Sorry if this has been asked before
So I'm playing on the xbox series x and to my knowledge it only goes to 125hz but my mouse can go 1000 now I understand sync changes also how the mouse works reads data  60 fps 120 fps etc so I play on 125 Hz  polling rate and sync default common was the way to go because most games were 60 fps but now days there 120 or at least my monitor being a 4k 120hz can output 120 I use these settings because I feel it's the best for current generation games and the xbox runs natively at 125hz so anything over that to me would be the same as sending to much packets to a router it would just stress the xbox my question is am I wrong about what I think I know is there any benefit to going a higher polling rate 500 or 1000 even tho the xbox is native 125 and for 120 fps games should I keep it default or should  I change it to common thankyou for taking your time to read my post

You should be fine with setting your XIM's Polling rate to 250hz or even 500hz for Xbox consoles, it's only 1000hz that can cause issues like distorted audio or your crosshair starts to drift.

Don't worry about changing Sync setting's for games with different framerates, Just stick with Default :)

You can keep your mouse polling rate at 1000hz btw, You don't need to lower it when you change your XIM's polling rate.
I just wanted to say that you are a phenomenal gamer. You make it look so easy and your gameplay has this commanding "tone" to it (i.e. not frantic -- more of a dominating calm :) ).

Yes, I'm not sure on the technical side of how it works - You'll need OBsIV to answer that.

In the past I used the Logitech G305 mouse, If I had my polling rate set to 500hz on both Mouse & XIM, I would experience mouse stutter in-game.... If I keep my XIM @ 500hz & set the mouse to 1000hz, I wouldn't have stutter anymore.
