$90 gold edition pre-order here.  It is simply a confused mess of a game.  All the issues are well documented at this point.  I detest the specialist system and most of the gadgets.. I hate the sentry guns and the robot dogs... The maps are atrocious.  For the absolute life of me I cannot imagine how they thought this game would be embraced by the BF community...  They can only patch it so much, the core game is what it is unfortunately.

Having said that, I'm still playing the game, mostly because I spent $90 on it and I'm just so burned out on Warzone/COD right now.. I find myself mostly just flying the Nightbird around (only a couple hundred kills from Tier 1) because the infantry combat is just tedious and not really rewarding... No communication with teammates, everyone just running around doing their own thing.

Also, on PC with crossplay turned on I'm increasingly seeing more and more games with a high number of bots... I fear this game is going to be completely dead before season 1 even drops.  It's easily the biggest letdown on a game I have been hyped for that I can ever remember.

Also on a side note, it's still horribly optimized on PC.. I had to upgrade my CPU just to not have the game run like complete trash.  And the icing on the cake:  They drop the 64 player versions of the maps on PC but NO crossplay with previous gen consoles, so I can't even crossplay with most of my buddies still.

I like the specialists with their of gadget however this is really a pity that they can have all of the (FEW) available weapons, and loadouts. EA missed the opportunity to have more classes that in the old BF ways with more choice.

Vehicules are a ruining the game, they are too much of them, to powerful and taking them down is really difficult the anti vehicule weapons are inefficient and there is no guided missile against armored vehicule.

There is not audio chat which should be a must when you need team playing which is the core of BF.

Maps are not dense enough, there are some island when fighting is fun the rest is just desert where you are taken down by snipers and vehicule.

And the absolute worse : only 2 kind of game, no TDM, free for all, neither the old mode of old BF, just conquest and breakthrough.

I believe this game was released too early because a new COD was released and shareholders wanted their money for year end.

This game should have a different name, either garbagefield or battlefailed

I see many people complaining about the vehicles.  I see the “vehicle problem” as more of a map problem and not even in the top 10 things I would change first… the vehicles in this game are not any more OP than they have been in any other BF game, and in some cases less.  You get more hit markers shooting at someone with a mounted 30mm cannon than shooting them an SMG..

An Abrams tank or a Wildcat anti-personnel armored vehicle SHOULD be somewhat op vs infantry because of what it is. Everyone already gets a free rocket with no real penalty in this game because of not having a class system….  And with the SOFLAM constantly up now the Apache is basically worthless to use.

The difference is in this game all the maps are just wide open spaces with no flanking lanes or density, so as infantry you are constantly exposed to the vehicles.  Just my 2 cents.

This.

If I shoot, 4 enemies will immediately aim at me. If you are lucky you will do 2 kills and then you can run again after the respawn. Spawn! Why can't I join squad mates at the beginning of the round? Many people who do not want to run for 5 minutes respawn immediately. Nobody thought about that? This always creates a spawn rape at the beginning, because then of course a clever helicopter pilot will hold in directly. Disgusting.

They turned off the Rush 2042 and TDM modes. That is so dumb. How do you turn off a Rush mode in a BF game? It's the most iconic mode after Conquest and so beloved and was one of the better modes in this game.

Also you can shoot armored vehicles with guided rockets, someone on the team just has to spot them with the gadget SOFLAM and then all standard rockets become guided - against choppers or ground vehicles.

How about BOLTEfield 2042... That's what it is right now. Shot or run over by a Bolte...

Yeah the game is just one large cluster fu** at the moment and will be for the first 6 months atleast. So many issues in game and many many things were simply not tested properly. Graphics are terrible, frames are crap, hit detection is so bad I can hit people with sniper see the blood splatter but no hit was registered. All the bugs and such came be quickly fixed but the real issue with the game is flat out @#$% game design.

Dice did esearch way back when designing BF3 and it showed the sweet spot for player count to be around 64. To many made the game less tactical and just a mess which got boring fast and to little gave to much downtime in the fighting. Somehow they managed to game boring and a tactical mess. The size of the maps are just to big with too many vehicles and players. With 64 people guarding a objective you lose the tactical part of the game. Hard to flank a objective with that many people and vehicles running around. Its no fun to spend 5 mins running across the map only to die and do it again. Battles take place around objectives so 90% of the maps are just dead zones that serv no purpose at all. Now Last gen consoles have 64 player with smaller maps and it is fun with little down time between battles.

Operators was done poorly because they gave no class restrictions at all which damaged flow of the game. They did it right in portal when playing previous titles and still having the operators in a way.

Another huge issue is how many different things they took out of the game that we had in the past ones and how they keep score. I cant browse for games, I cant change teams, i cant pick a specific squad, I cant check scoreboard, I dont even know how many freaking kills someone has. The scoring system is just lazy and rewards no one which is also boring.

The number of bad ideas that made it into the game is completely mind blowing to.me. how did no one in all the years of game build time did someone not see the train wreck coming. No wonder the lead game designer resigned days after release. I knew it was going to such before the Beta and boy I caught hell for saying that at the time.

Any way enough venting from me about it I went back to BF5 for the time being and some BF1.

Yeah, BFV, 1, 4 all are upgrades over this garbage. They'd been better off with Hardline 2... actually. Maybe a re-release of BF3 at this point.

I'd take BF3 current Gen and MW2 current Gen over everything out there on console right now!

Hardline wasn't all that bad it just wasn't the normal sandbox BF. I still remember pulling over opening the trunk the whole squad grabbing RPG out then getting back in the car to chase people down.
