HDMI 2.0 isn't necessarily needed for VRR considering the HDMI protocol/group whatever they called themselves basically messed with the requirements/naming scheme.

Who knows when/if PS5 will support VRR and if it will work with other monitors/tv's. The current "rumor" is that obviously Sony wants to market VRR with their TV's so could be detrimental to other units.

I'll be incredibly pissed if VRR doesn't work on my LG CX and only works on Sony products, which their verbiage every time they mention VRR seems to be slightly implying.

You're golden, the LG CX has HDMI 2.1 ports and supports HDMI Forum VRR.

Thanks for sharing the source regarding VRR. Jesus, that was back in November 2020 and I was actually thinking this was a recent thing.  Crossing my fingers but the realist in me just sees Sony messing this up somehow lol

Thanks. It'll likely be using the same security method as DS5 or may be locked to fighting games, but we will check it out when it's released.

The authorization that HORI has obtained must have a decryption chip. Unless XIM APEX also installs a decryption chip, it is impossible.

Maybe Sony will only whitelist it for fighting games. It has a switch on back labeled PS5, PS4, and PC. Plus it has no right analog stick making it not very useful outside of fighting games.

It also has a padlock switch. I wonder what that is for.

Oh nice there is already some discussion going on in regard to the new Hori controller. The back switches are indeed interesting.
Looking forward to the results when Obsiv tested the controller. Though id be surprised if it works in all PS5 games or uses a solution other than the speciality controller approach.

you can order the beloader and then get a ethernet hub and put the lan firmwaren om the beloader.
this combination works solid no disconnects. only think you can only put the xim on max 500 hz but your mouse can be 1000hz.
played the compleet week with this setup without any disconnects or lagg.

I will use this solution until there is a bether one.

Beloader + Ethernet adapter is the meta right now, best and most reponsive mouse movements you can get with any Remote Play solution at the moment.

With the beloader in lan firmware the lag is gone and the disconnects of the remote play too. Only thing from time to time i get purple flashing of my xim and i can control nothing. That was with a polling rare of 250 in xim and 500 in my mice. Than i have to restart everything.
