[Q/A] Xim on PC with one keyboard.
« on: 05:29 PM - 11/21/21 »
Essentially I want to use XIM on PC games without having to plug and unplug my keyboard and mouse. Is it possible for xim to work with a usb switch and how would I go about setting it up?

Welcome to the community. USB switches may work for a while but are known to eventually fail to switch. When this happens you may need to disconnect/reconnect APEX, disconnect/reconnect the switch USB cables to PC, or move the switch cables to other ports on the PC to avoid rebooting the PC. I use second wireless keyboard and mouse at my desk to avoid using a switch.

Try XIM Link. It acts as a sort of software KVM switch so you can use your pc-connected keyboard and mouse for the XIM or PC without switching anything around.
