Mist about Vanguard's ADS delay value
« on: 09:42 PM - 11/18/21 »
People have sensitivity spikes when going into AND out of the ADS, they are using the recommended ingame setting "instant" and the default ADS delay of 224.
Should they maybe switch to a different ingame ADS setting? Or is the default value of 224 no longer up to date? I recall users testing "instant" and they discovered it still uses a delay.

Please let us know what the optimal settings would be :).

It seems to be with the ads sens multiplier.. if you put it on 1.0 thereís no crazy jump but when you put the ads sens multiplier on the recommendation of 3.20 thatís when the issue is happening. I believe the same thing happened in modern warfare when mist trained with the ads multiplier higher than 1.0

i remember that happening on modern warfare i think it was discovered you could only turn ingame sense up so far before it would start happening

What I'm finding weird is my ads Sens has to be wayyyy higher (nearly 3 times) than my hip fire sense and im hitting max turn speed way more  when aiming down sight than usual

The ADS multiplier 3.2 is the problemÖ

But if I put it to 1.0, then I have to put my sensitivity up to x3. Its broken now.

Same for me.
With the indicated parameters the output aim in ADS is not fluid, but receive sudden accelerations that make the transition between ADS and HIP impossible.
For me the  only current solution is to set the ADS multiplier to 1.0 and turn up approximately twice the sense in XIM respect HIP.

So with ADS Multiplier 1 the default delay value of 224 works as intended and there is no need for a deactivation delay?
No jumps then?

Cannot test it myself until later tonight.

You may need to use another ADS transition type and adjust the delay as needed. My tools don't allow me to find ADS delay, I can test each ST separately but not together. Instant was a suggestion based on it's description. It sounds like some people are liking Gradual so I'll change the setting suggestion to that for now.

A higher ADS multiplier of 3.2 was used to allow for near equal turn speeds between Hip and ADS. Before training, my tools were telling me they would be equal, after completion I found ADS to be a little larger than Hip. There's something like a 10% difference.

So Gradual and Multiplier 1 should result in no sensitivity jumps?

There are so many people using different settings in this topic it starts to get a bit confusing haha.
Maybe we can clear this up a bit, post what you are using and if you experience a jump or not:

- Type of ingame ADS transtion: Gradual or Instant?
- Ingame ADS Multiplier: 1 or 3.2?
- XIM ADs delay value: 224?
- XIM ADS deactivation value: 0?

- XIM ADs delay value: 224?
- XIM ADS deactivation value: 0?

- Type of ingame ADS transtion: Instant
- Ingame ADS Multiplier: 3.2
- XIM ADs delay value: 224 (I've try also with 0)
- XIM ADS deactivation value: 224 (I've try also with 0)
In this way jump.

- Type of ingame ADS transtion: Gradual
- Ingame ADS Multiplier: 3.2
- XIM ADs delay value: 224 (I've try also with 0)
- XIM ADS deactivation value: 224 (I've try also with 0)
In this way jump less, but is always present the kick when go to ADS to HIP.

- Type of ingame ADS transtion: Gradual and Instant
- Ingame ADS Multiplier: 1
- XIM ADs delay value: 224
- XIM ADS deactivation value: 224
No jumps in this way, but ADS movement is too slow. For a decent movement is necessary use HIP value x 3, but personally I fell aiming not smooth.

Try are done with xbox series x.

Yes, I also I found that using Gradual with a 224 activation and 224 deactivation feels pretty good. Adjust higher or lower based on your preference. If we can reach a consensus we may be able to preset the delay values into new configs like we've done in the past.
