Quietest gaming keyboard?
« on: 12:12 PM - 11/18/21 »
So far Iíve gone through a

Razer huntsman elite,
Logitech g pro mini.

Looking for something that is quiet so my stream/people donít hear my keyboard. Iím very open and honest with it, but my room is basically empty with hardwood so thereís tons of echo.

Thanks in advanced!

Put some soft furnishing in the room, and or hang something like curtain on the walls.

Use a gate on your mic set to somewhere like -30db.

Both of them are pretty noisy keyboards. Make sure to get ďsilentĒ linear switches if possible. At a minimum, add O-ring dampeners to all keys.

I use a wireless Keyboard from KLIM. It is almost dead silent.

KLIM is a membrane keyboard rather than mechanical, so it makes sense that itís quiet.

I've had the Corsair k70, steelseries apex 7, Razer huntsman elite, and now the Alienware with the low profile cherry reds. The Alienware is much much quieter than any of those. By quite a bit.

The Corsair and steelseries were crap that broke or had unfixable defects (Corsair keys started breaking off after a year. Steelseries just stops responding multiple times a day, have to unplug and plug it back in, replacement keyboard did this as well).

The Razer felt real nice to type on but you couldn't save even a static lighting profile to it, so you'd have to deal with their default bling lighting when using the xim. Plus for you, it's loud.

The Alienware is quiet, you can save lighting profiles to it, and you can turn the F row into dedicated media keys. And it's mechanical with 1.2mm actuation level. Which I like. The software is a bit rudimentary compared to say Corsair or Razer, but it's overall got more features I need.

Appreciate all the replies.

I ordered a ducky mini with silent (pink$)cherry keys and some o-rings just to be on safe side.

Hopefully this dampens the sound drastically.

Also looking to sell 2 basically brand new keyboards.

Logitech g pro - 60 (bought less than 3 months ago will come with receipt from Best Buy)
Huntsman Elite - $50 (min wear on the wrist rest)
