Xim not working after forced controller update

Hello my xbox did an update only 638mb. Then it forced me to update my controller. It would not go any further. I wired my controller without the xim in line with it, as I always do and now xim will not work. Has anyone else had that yet? Are we working on solutions for it yet?

Before you ask I have used xim for about 10 years and everything is up to date. Xim was plugged in when xbox updated, but I unplugged it for the controller update.

Can you hard reboot your Xbox? Hold down the power button until it shuts off and turn it back on.

Same. The update I think is from being part of Xbox Insider program. Anyway I can’t use XIM with updated controller. Mine freaks out and does like a screenshot a second. Makes a real mess.

Do you see the the green flashing lights on you XIM at all?

Also, what console and what what controller type?

Series X. Elite 2 that was updated.
What I’m seeing is all is fine if I just use the controller. Once I touch my mouse and NAV it freaks out like capture button is stuck. It’ll do 50 screenshots in a minute.

No problems with my Apex. Used two different updated controllers on Xbox Series X. Works perfectly after the update. Latest firmware Beta on Apex.

Update after paying more attention. All is fine until I move my mouse. Like the mouse is remapped to taking captures. If I flip the mouse over it stops. Still leaves me with 50+ screenshots to delete.

I have same behavior not in game. This happens every where. Is your controller and Elite 2?

Thankfully I have other non-updated controllers that work fine. I’ll update the controller that came with my One X. See where that leads.

Micro USB controllers don’t need the update. So this update only applies to USB C (newer) ones. I only have two the Elite 2 and one that came with SX. I didn’t update the one that came with it and all is fine but I have to back out of the update prompt after start up.

We just updated a Series X with the Alpha build and updated a Series X controller and no issues with NEXUS. We are verifying with APEX.

Ok, if you are running firmware 5.11.3115.0 on your controller, then, please upgrade to our XIM APEX Beta which will fix the problem: http://xim.tech/beta

If you are on XIM4, unfortunately it will take time for us to address it.

Hi I am sorry I didnt specify more the xbox that updated was original xbox one with micro controller, and xim4. My one x with Apex has not done any of this and is still working. I
Have Not checked my other xbox that is also original but has apex.

As far as I can tell xim is working as it should lights look normal but it is a xim4 so I will wait for new update.

I could not back out of the update for the controller.  I pushed every button and even restarted it. How did you back out

I actually don't think you can -- even though when you opt-in to the insider build it implies that you can back out. It seems like you can for the Xbox's OS build, but, not the controller firmware updates.

We will be seeing what needs to be done to make XIM4 work with this update.
