How to play all PS5 games over Remote Play

Not sure if this is going to help anyone, but using the dual sense with a PC was not working as well as I expected. The pc I am using only has USB 3.0, I remember someone mentioning XIM Apex sometimes doesn't behave well with 3.0.

So I plugged the XIM Hub (3 port hub included with XIM APEX) to my PC, then I plugged XIM Apex to port 1 ( I tried all, no difference really) then from the back of  the XIM Apex, I plugged another powered USB 3.0 USB I had around, then I plugged Dual sense, mouse and NAV to the 3.0 Hub. This worked all the time, I don't even have to plug the dual sense last. I just leave everything connected. Again just my persona results...but if you are having issues using the dual sense in your PC with the XIM Apex, you may want to use or get a 2.0 USB hub.

Again my own personal experience. Also the only reason I used the XIM Apex hub as the bridge between my PC and  XIM apex is because I have no other 2.0 HUBs around. So in theory any 2.0 HUB should do the trick...but again there are so many variables with this remote play workaround, that anything could create issues.

Xim Apex works fine on pc with Dualsense, but once I load Remote Play, it just locks the controller and I have to exit/unplug to work again.

It surely isnt a Xim issue, but ... that's odd. If anyone knows a workaround. I tried with a Mayflash PS4 gamepad adapter as well and the results were the same.

I'll try to find my Madcatz Alpha Arcade stick and see if it works... but that one doesn't have analog axis so probably not useful.

Dear XIM community, this is my first post in this forum, so please bear with me I'm using the XIM Apex for about two years now and am very pleased with this excellent piece of hardware!

Maybe this idea I had isn't working at all, but someone who has the respective hardware lying around might give it a try anyways: As an alternative to the Remote Play solution via PC or the new Beloader, I was think of the FireTV stick from Amazon. As far as my reseach goes, the FireTV Stick (as it is an Android device) supports installing the mobile App of PS Remote Play. Also the PS4 dual shock controller is allegedly working by cable (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OgoSfXLqgg0). So it might also work with the XIM. There is even an Ethernet adapter available for the FireTV Stick. So what I was thinking is: Fire TV stick -> appropriate USB adapter or cable (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B00D9SJF1U/) -> XIM. But for now I would only be interested in whether the solution FireTV stick + PS Remote Play + XIM with dual shock would actually work.

As the FireTV stick is currently offered for a reduced price on Amazon Germany, it would be only half the price than what is currently charged for the Beloader device.

I'm looking forward to hearing your opinions

Actually, I have ordered the Fire TV Stick 4K (https://www.amazon.de/dp/B08XW4FDJV/) and a compatible USB Hub with ethernet adapter (https://www.amazon.de/gp/product/B07NPGVRYV/ //edit: does not seem to work) to try this out myself as well If it doesn't work, I still have some pretty neat hardware

I would suggest trying the official PS Remote Play App. Unfortunatley, it is not directly available via the Fire TV stick. There is only a third party software that costs 4,99 € (PSPlay: Unlimited PS Remote Play (PS5/ PS4)) but this is directly available through Fire TV`s app store.

Of course anytime, I was having the same issue using dualsense. It worked and when it did it worked well. But it desynced to often and also starting it up in the beginning often took a ton of tries. Once I got my DS4 V2 (official Sony one not a knockoff) it works flawlessly every time I setup remote play.

Dont bother with PSPad, it runs on a forced deadzone value of 2 which results in poor micro movements. Also there is some really heavy sensitivity smoothing going on. Certainly a step down in terms of mouse movement quality, same goes for the version that costs 5€.

I wasn’t aware the official PS Remote Play app wasn’t directly supported on Fire TV, which could be problematic. Thanks for all of your info Howling Mad, that’ll save me some time

Still, it’s worth testing. If it works as a proof of concept that could lead to something else.

At worst, I can use the 4K Max anyway, so it won’t be a loss if this Remote Play setup fails. Does Fire TV work as a Chromecast device?

The programmer of PSPad said he will put the deadzone to 0 with the next update. But no words on the sensitivity smoothing which is just as much of a problem as the micro movements are with PSPad. Which kind of sucks as otherwise PSPad would be a great option as it also ignores video/audio from the remote stream.

Sideloading Sony Remote Play onto the FireStick should be the ideal solution i think.
