How to play all PS5 games over Remote Play

Hey guys, I've been trying to get this to work for the last 3 hours and I can't figure it out. I followed all steps, read all comments but it doesn't make sense why it's not working.

When I connect the PS5 DualSense controller directly to my computer and use remote play it works just fine, but then when connecting the XIM Apex with hub with keyboard, mouse, and DualSense nothing works, light are all on but no movement whatsoever. I haven't played in a long time but I did update the DualSense controllers today.

I sold my PS4 so can't try it with a DualShock anymore, but that used to work just fine.

I tried every possible combination of hub slots, changed all cables used 2 different DualSense controllers, settings are all correct.

When I connect the XIM directly to the PS5, using a hori controller everything works as well. I just wanna play back 4 blood.

Any ideas?

To my understanding the DualSense doesnt work through the XIM + Remote Play (latest version), you have to use a DualShock version 2 controller.

And to be sure you're using the correct controller, it is the DS4 V2. It has a lightbar going across the top part of the TouchPad.

thats messed up. so now i have to find a dual shock v2 controller? i have the hori mini atm

Havent tried it myself but other users have reported this, maybe test it yourself too before buying another controller.

I was getting pretty nervous, I couldnt make it work. Tried and tried different scenarios and combination untill I made it work!
I might have an idea how to trigger the combination to work.
So now I'm using dual sense + xim apex with kb and mouse + ps remote play.
Playing now cod cold War ps5. Works perfect

Thanks for the video! Which order did you plug in the cables and connect it to your computer and dual sense? I can't get this to work with the DualSense controller and remote play. I just went to the store and bought a DS4 V2 and it works instantly via Remote Play. I can finally play Back 4 Blood but had to spend $70 for a PS4 controller........

I mean the timing, not the order, I have the exact setup, is there a trick like with the hori controller to plug it in after connecting it to the computer or something?

Here you go. Basically you have to connect the xim apex/hub  with kb and mouse to the laptop. Wait till the xim has completly loaded. You can see when the xim blinks like a heart beat and the mouse profile is loaded. THEN connect the dual sense to the xim apex.

Ok, that may be an bug on XIM APEX that we will need to look at. We never intended to support a DS5 as the connected console controller, so, it makes sense that it may have some initialization timing issues.

Thanks for the new video and for taking the time!! The good news, I know for sure now that it's working with the DuealSense controller. I got it to work a few times. But that was out of over 100 tries. I waited for the heartbeat and tried different timings but no luck most of the time. The only way I can get it to work for sure is when I restart the ps5 without pressing any button. Then connect the xim with mouse and kb to my computer, then connect the DualSense when the heartbeat starts. Then open Remoteplay and connect to the PS5. This works every time. But when I now disconnect the Xim and try the same thing again nothing works anymore. Super weird with the DualSense.

It works every time with the PS4 V2 controller. Maybe an update or something is coming soon. Would like to see if other people are having the same issues as me.

Maybe its because in the shown video the Remote Play software already has a running connection to the PS5.
When Remote Play is already connected i can remove the controller, or even turn it off an Remote Play wont care. It would be interesting if Remote Play works with a plugged in DualSense before establishing the connection.

Oh I see. I have no problem with this workaround at all. I just hope cod vanguard ps5 will get the full ps remote play when it launches
