nobody will play on a noob box
Series X is far more of a gamer's console than PS5. Worse system specs, no external storage, no 1440p support, no VRR, a sum total of two system performance settings locked behind obscure menus, forcing gamers to use a DualSense controller, ugly as a bulldog chewing on a wasp... PS5 is designed for casual couch noob gaming and it's first year has been nothing short of abysmal.
I've played on PS consoles for 26 years and have spent thousands upon thousands of hours on them. I've also owned 360 and Xbox One consoles from launch and have barely touched them. But MS knocked it out of the park this time. Series X provides core gamers with everything they could want, right off the bat and ticked all of the gaming boxes that Sony intentionally ignored. Series X gets scarily close to an RTX 3080 Ti gaming PC for 1440p 120Hz performance (4K 120Hz is fantasy-land for console gaming) and Game Pass Ultimate is a stellar deal.
PS5...not so much. Disabling third-party devices like XIM APEX is just the stink line on top of a turd sandwich. This is the first time in over half of my life that I've happily switched camps to Xbox. I'll keep it for PS5 exclusives and 60FPS PS4 gaming, but everything else I'll play on Series X.
