XIM4 with wired XBox 360 controller on PC
« on: 05:53 AM - 07/05/21 »
I'm trying to get my XIM4 working with my PC.  I'm using a wired Xbox 360 controller, which works fine when plugged directly into the PC - Windows detects it and I can use it in-game (Warzone).  But when I plug in via XIM4 it's not detected and the lights on the XBox controller are flashing, whereas when plugged-in directly it immediately allocates as controller 1.

I'm using latest firmware on XIM4.

Any ideas?

Welcome to the community. XIM does not support PC as a gaming platform but some players have been able to use XIM in their PC game by using a Microsoft wireless Xbox controllers with their XIM. Third party controllers are not supported. Your wired controller technically should work assuming Microsoft made it.

If the controller was purchased online and not in person it's possible this may be a third party controller or a "clone" controller. This was common with 360 controllers, some of these look identical to the real thing but are different internally. With that said it may also take longer to initialize the controller on PC. I've noticed it can take 15-30 seconds sometimes.

Thanks, Mist.  Yeah I've seen people on YouTube using a 360 controller with XIM4 on a PC and it all working fine.  I used to use this controller with XIM on the 360, and it worked okay, but not now with the PC.  Hmmm
