L4D2 is a great game.  If you have three other friends to play campaign with, it's just awesome

I personally enjoy this as a drinking game, where you've got buddies over and just sitting there drinking.

Someone said before, but Dead Space 1 & 2 are definitely worth your time. Its rediculously immersive, playing with the lights low and sound high makes for an epic single player campaign (even if its a little on the short side)
FEAR 1 & 2 are also worth checking out, even if they are a tiny bit dated.
Borderlands is a good bet too. The original and the expansions are thoroughly enjoyable. I'm still playing single player since release to this day because its that fun. Can't say that about a lot of games nowadays

DEFINITELY DEAD SPACE 1 & 2!
If you have a PS3 God of War the entire series is what got me playing on the console.  Greatest games I have ever played!

Fear is also a really good one but definitely Dead Space and God of War just plain awesome

You should play a new version of Battlefield 3. If you have a PS3 or XBox 360 then you will surely get a awesome picture quality and sound effect.

Im hoping brink turns out to be a great game but also have a good look mechanic that can be used with a ST, from the videos I have seen of gameplay the turn speed looks really slow.....like cods 1 sensitivity slow.

Gear3 Beta was a fun distraction, but week 4 seemed like no dedicated servers and was all the same old lag @#$% that made me stop playing Gears2.

Oh well.  Time to finish Fallout New Vegas.
