Connecting PS4 controller on PC

I've been using XIM APEX on PC for a long time now with my XBOX ONE controller. I wanted to try using PS4 controller and I can't seem to get the controller to work with the XIM. When I plug it in, I see it appear connected in the app, but my controller has a yellow light and it doesn't work. How do I fix this?

You will need to use a "Gen2" DS4 (the one with the light bar on top of the touch pad) in order to make things work on PC.

Both gens of DS4 should work on PC. I've used them both to play games in Steam, but the game requires support for the DualShock 4 controller.
