i just plug directly my keyboard & mouse to my ps5 and play ps5 version of cold war (without xim apex) it works perfectly
need to configure keyboard directly in option of the game

it works only to play online, or zombie, or warzone

for campaign, option of keyboard & mouse locked ! u can only play with dualsense

I’m willing to pay to have the new firmware so it makes my xim compatible with my ps5 games

Greetings, Mr. OBsIV !!!

I know you must be working hard on this reverse engineering. I just wanted to add some context to my... urgency.!!

I have both a Xim 4 and a Xim Apex. I have PS4 and PS3 controllers here.. Also a Titan Two that I never programmed for anything, it's just here, maybe it can be of help?

I already have my PS5 ready here and my digital copy of Demon Souls Remake that I want to play...

THE PROBLEM IS... I don't have my right hand, was born without it.

I played all console exclusives I wanted using a Left Handed Naga and a Razer Blackwidow keyboard, it just works and it's wonderful.!!!

:D I hope all this compatibility issue is resolved soon!!!

Now... to everyone in this forum and topic, is there a makeshift way to play PS5 with mouse and keyboard? I've been reading somethings about the PS3 controller syncs with PS5, also that one could use Xim Link to the PC and/or remote play... from the PS4 or PS5 to the PC?

Is there a way to play right now? I don't mind input lag or anything, I just want to experience Demon Souls Remaster as soon as I can.

XIM changed my life and this forum is AMAZING, so many helpful enthusiasts eager to help!!!

THANK YOU ALL GUYS

If you still have a PS4 handy, try using the PS5 RemotePlay app with the XIM APEX & a DS4 connected to PS4. RemotePlay works with PS5 games.

Alternately, try the PS RemotePlay app on PC or Mac.

If you can see this sony, id just like you to know that im considering picking up your console over the xbox series x. Back in 2014 i crashed my motorcycle leaving my left leg fractured. Th doctors did all they could and in the end put a metal plate with screws to save me from loosing it.

Today in 2020 im bright as ever however my bones are soo stiff, if i pick up a control my hands ache in agony!. My point is the XIM "enables" me to play your fantastic!!!! games and soo what if i pawn fanboys at cod !#? Ive joined some really hard lobbies and i havent managed to get ONE KILL. That new game coiming out where your in tokyo and you do hand gestures like naruto!!! sick!!!

Guys i play for the fun of it so if you could please let the guys at XIM play. please?

I did not pre-order, nor buy a PS5 at launch just because I hate controllers so much, that the only way for me to play PlayStation Exclusives is the Xim Apex + Xim Link to PC + Azeron with my left hand and Corsair Scimitar with my right.

I can only hope that the Xim Apex (or a new Xim product) will be compatible within the next few months.

Give you're playing via XIM Link, try connecting the XIM APEX to PC and use the PS Remote Play app. Apparently it works for PS5 games. A DS4 V2 controller is also required.

I'm going to try remote play today after reading that there should be no input lag. (on the PS5+PC, both in the same ethernet)

Let us know how it goes, I am hopeful that we will get native support but remote play may have to do for now.

I believe PS4 Remote Play is about 150ms over ethernet (more on wifi) based on Computer Vision capture in Gtuner IV for Titan Two.

If PS5 Remote Play performs similarly, it would be usable for single-player games, but I'd be hesitant to use it for online multiplayer.

I don't own a PS5, so this is speculation, but I'd be surprised if it's less than 100ms.

I hope this works, as I've had xim4 for a while and don't want to be forced into buying another one.
If we do can we get a discount?? I bought mine from the XIM4 website Obvs.

Im really hoping we can plug the xim4 into the new PS5 and new controller. If not I wont be able to use a PS5 as I need M&K as my thumbs through accident I cant use a pad.

I doubt ps5 compatibility will be an issue on the apex hardware its gona be more an issue of its possible at all , assuming they must need to break some type of encryption or something. I'd say it's very complex but if anyone can do it then Obsiv can.

PS5 Remote Play is not PS4 Remote Play. In PS4 Remote Play there is a input lag.

There is an interesting article about PS5 Remote Play:

https://www.pushsquare.com/news/2019/10/ps5s_controller_could_reduce_latency_with_playstation_now

Quote
As discovered by Dutch website Techtastic, the manufacturer has filed a patent for technology that will effectively allow its controller to interface directly with a server.

What does this mean? Well, let’s look at how things currently work with the DualShock 4 with regards to PS Now: inputs are sent from the controller to the PlayStation 4. This information is then transferred from the PS4 to your router, which is then beamed to the Japanese giant’s server farm, prompting the software to respond. With this new technology, however, the signal would be sent directly from the peripheral to your router, skipping a step.

It’s the exact same technology that Google’s Stadia uses, and the idea is to reduce latency.

So with PS5 maybe there is no input lag. I have to test this.

How to measure my input lag if I'm testing this?

EDIT: Ok, i think there is a problem. You mentioned in another thread:

If you don't have the patience to wait for XIM Tech to work it out, your options are -
a) play PS4 games on PS5 using XIM APEX and a DS4 V2 controller,
b) play PS5 games on PS5 using XIM APEX, a DS4 V2 and the PS Remote Play app on PC or Mac, or
c) get an Xbox Series X console instead.

So, the "Remote Play trick" is bound to DS4 V2. Not to the PS5 controller. But the "no input lag Stadia feature" is according to the article only a feature of new PS5 controller.

Hi OBsIV, just fyi incase it helps with figuring out the authentication protocol for PS5, the PS4 gaming sheels from Logitech G29/G923 will soon be compatible with PS5 as per an official tweet. They are apparently pending approval from Sony.

https://twitter.com/logitechg/status/1296609447670738944?lang=en

It looks like Sony is trying to do some sort of encrypted authentication for controller possibly to stop XIM/fake controllers from working on the PS5. My guess is that it is more for the fake controllers which eat into their controller sales.

Also happy to see that you are working with J2KBR on this. I had a quick look around their forums and some of the stuff he has done with computer vision looks excellent.
