No, you cannot play any PS5 games with a DualShock 4 controller. Only with PS4 games, hoping obsiv can find a way to get it working.

Is Cold War a PS4 or PS5 game then?

Both. 

Just make sure you start the "ps4" version by pressing "options" on "Cold War" and then go to "game version" then select "ps4"

There are 2 versions.  One for Ps4 and one for PS5. If you download the ps5 version it won't work and if you download the ps4 verson it will. 

Pretty much you will have 2 full versions of CoD on your console if you install both but it will only work for the PS4 verson

We are looking at it now, but, unfortunately this isn't going to be a quick thing.

under controller settings, there's a communication method.   may need to switch that to usb cable instead of Bluetooth

cold war runs like a treat even on ps5 in backwards compat mode ps4 pro looks blurry just suclks having trshy audio

Unfortunately yea.
However it was known it wouldn't work (or abysmally low chances for it to work ) for PS5 games from the beginning when Sony stated you can only use a Dualsense controller for PS5 games.  It only worked for Xbox so quickly because MS allowed old controllers to work on S X right out of the box

Yes, XIM4 works on PS5 but only on PS4 games, DS4 controller gen2 connected on the XIM4 (USB Communication Method).

We need a pin on these.
