[ACTIVE] New to Xim, need help with setup

Hi guys! Just bought the xim4 to my ps4.
Im gonna try it out on rainbow six.

Followed the instructions, looked at youtube videos, scrolled the forum.
Updated and reset the device.

The installation and sync with the app is no problem. Added new config. (Both rss ”classic”
 and ”updated”. Whats the difference?)

But it doesnt work. I have the intellimouse 3.0 (old, i know :) ) but it should work according to the compability list!?

Think I will buy a new keyboard tomorrow because its on the list that doesnt work.
But the intelli should work even without the keyboard?

Pls help :)

Welcome to the community. Are you seeing you mouse input show up in Manager?

Yes it does.  (And the keyboard also). So the app doesnt show any problems, and the xim even flashes when i press load, so it indicating that it transfers. But nothing happens in-game.

I have the same issue for over a month and no help at all it does work with my Xbox but won’t work with ps4 and I tried going to the PS4 setting and put the setting as usb cable and something with the Bluetooth also in the ps4 settings and nothing works so I gave up and I bought the rainbow six game for nothing lol

In one way its good that im not alone with this problem :)
Tried the cable setting also...
But no help from the forum? Even the moderators?

Will try from scratch with new keyboard now. But i dont get why it doesnt work. Its like it doesnt get ”activated” for some reason.

Surely there must be some helpful soul out there? :)

Didnt work with new keyboard either :( (but detected in xim app and I can change keys when the app is ”listening” both with mouse and keyboard)

Been watching even more youtube videos now and all the comments. Some people say that some usb cables are ”fake” and you should try different ones. I have tried 3 now. (Some dude tried 15 different cables lol)

Some other guys recommend trying different usb port on the ps4.

Dunno what to do but surely there must be some pros in this forum!?

I don't know of fake cables but some cables are charge only and don't allow for transferring data but this doesn't make them fake.

We can check if the controller is authenticating, this is needed for your mouse and keyboard to work. Please remove the hub and then disconnect and reconnect APEX to the console with the controller directly connected to APEX while watching APEX's startup light sequence. Do you see 4 green lights during this sequence? For reference the startup light sequence should look similar to this:

red, green, blue
red
green, green, green, green
red

If you do not see 4 green lights at startup and you have spare cables please test other cables with the controller.

I’ve tried all this but nothing works and like I said it has to be a setting on the PS4 cause the cable keyboard and mouse work fine on my Xbox so it has to be a setting

To be clear, the last test should not allow your mouse and keyboard to work. The purpose of the test is to see if your controller works without your hub and other peripherals connected.

I see that you're on PS4 now and I don't think it's been asked yet, is the console communication method set to USB instead of bluetooth? This is required if the controller supports it.

Settings > Devices > Controllers > Communication Method

We could look at whether the controller is talking with the console using the cable next. If the controller is attached directly to the console which icon do you see in the quick menu? 1 or 2?

3' - 6' cables by Anker, Aukey, or Amazon Basics is where I would start.
