To Zombies and Safeman...Just out of curiosity what mouse are you using?

My settings were all correct as I suspected. I am currently testing to why this is happening however I am getting mixed results using a variety of mice at different poll rates and dpi. It is definitely impacting movement on different mice. More like the motion control of the character and not so much the sensitivity.

I donít have a conclusion yet but will do more testing with the mice I have.

My G402 Fury was spot on with motion control and movement with Disables settings.
Some mice may not work as good with lower poll rates. As my Razer seems to like higher poll rates.

A little update, I figured out it wasn't delay as such, it's just an acceleration feeling. This was exacerbated by the fact that I was using quite a bit of smoothing still as I tried this directly from my old 1000hz config. 250hz has a lot of natural smoothing anyway and having more smoothing than necessary makes it feel awful. Did try it for a while with all the recommended settings but nothing compares to 1000hz for me, it just feels so responsive and snapping into and out of the aim assist bubble just feels better.

So what did you change? Lowered the smoothing from
2 and put it at 1000hz?

I would suggest to try it at 250hzXIM/Mouse without any smoothing! Try it with and without SAT. I believe its causing interference when you add smoothing to certain mice not all though. I have better experience without the smoothing on my mouse.

Yeah I tried different smoothing values at 250hz. 2 smoothing felt best, I was getting some stutters with 0 probably due to sync off. Tried it for a while and it started to feel okay, but then I switched back to my old settings of 800 DPI and 1000hz and they just felt so much better. Again I think it's the acceleration feeling that 250hz creates that I don't get on with. 800 DPI with 1000hz requires quite a bit of smoothing with sync off but it still feels very responsive.

so does the dev or anyone have specifics...cause people say oh man 250 hz xim an 250hz mouse polling is way better then xim 250hz and 1000hz mouse polling. but if im correct doesnt the xim lock it to 250 regardless so even if you have the mouse polling to 1000 doesnt matter the xim only picks up every what is it 4ms. so is it placebo you guys feel when you say the mouse polling needs to be lowered. im just asking cause if possible i like facts over opinion unless nobody just truly knows the answer at the time.

Yea. I believe PS4 can only do 250hz which is capped. I may play with smoothing a bit since Iím getting a lot of acceleration from hip to ads with no curves.

I see a lot of mis-information on this thread now.

250 250
Is the same as
250 1000

Smoothing or 250 does not create acceleration. Smoothing can add a floaty feel but not at such low levels.

I'm sure a dev will confirm.

I don't miss a bullet with this set up. Only die from the usual campers and third party.

Yeah, I also tried 250 + 1000 and felt no difference to 250 250, and yeah for me smoothing just added a delayed feel and it felt awful, 250 itself without smoothing though just ended up being acceleration which I initially thought was delay cause it felt weird. Different strokes I guess, clearly it's working for you and a lot of people in this thread seem to love it, just personally it's not for me!

Yes I'm not defending the config, we're all individuals and its totally fine to not like this one or visa versa.

What i wanted straightened out is the misinformation, how something feels is separate to what is fact. Can be off putting for new people to the Xim.

This is not directed to you in particular.

Interesting,  if the xim is polling 250hz 4ms and your mouse is polling 1000hz 1 ms how is the same? 🤔

Does the XIM polling rate overide the mouse polling rate?

Yeah you can do mate, as long as your mouse polling rate is higher than the Xim then you're all good.

In my (admittedly limited) understanding, it's just that the mouse sends the movement data to the Xim at 1ms but the Xim rate is capped at 4ms so can't translate it any faster than that. So 250-250 will feel the same as 250-1000. Sort of like having a USB2 port, using a USB3 device on it won't be any faster than using a USB2 device because the speed is limited by the port itself.
