I have has this same questions a few times
What are the repeated numbers in d6et36jj8:

I only see the number 6 being repeated

It fails every time and I have to bail out and start a new post and hope I don't get that same question again

Can the mods or admin please look into this?

Thanks for bringing this up!
By the way after 10 posts you will no longer be affected by the spambot protection anymore, and you just passed that threshold :).

Thanks and yes, I posted enough times yesterday to get through the spam filter questions.
Just trying to avoid others running into the same frustrating issue :)

Thanks for letting us know. Spam has been a big problem for us as the forum keeps growing and becomes more and more of an appealing target.

I run a large SMF forum also
You need to get this MOD for SMF
MOD httpBL

It checks spammer data bases first  for IP's, emails and user names
It works great

It will deny access and present spammers with a warning page
I have been using it for many years on my SMF forum

Here's the mod link
https://custom.simplemachines.org/mods/index.php?mod=2155

Also, are you a member of Honey Pot?
You add an invisible HoneyPot link on your SMF template that will draw bots to the honey pot
https://www.projecthoneypot.org/services_overview.php

Here's a shot of my forums Mod HttpBL page

Yep. Thatís the set. We were waiting for them to update those as of last month.  another mod as well. We had to clean up the old mods first as well from one of the last moves. We used to run these before we had to update and had some massive conflicts when these mods werenít updated for over a year... until recently... most are finally updating as of March :)

Just one more SMF tip
At one time, my SMF forum was getting hit with too many spiders and bots

I was checking my server log and pulled out these abusers
I added these entries to my robots.txt file and the traffic went way down
I may need to update these again, it's been a few years
