I am. Lol, but I also know it will pay off with other games coming out next year etc. I only upgrade once every 2-3 years anyway

You realize PC has a voice chat option, right? And it's almost ALWAYS better quality than any console game. XBOX and PS3 voice chat codecs are freaking horrible.

Other team cannot hear you during a match. I'm usually on vent or ts anyway with a few friends. Its funny though how few people use the voice chat on pc vs console. Just nostalgic to type I guess. Does anyone remember roger wilco?

I used Roger Wilco for my racing game with my teammates back in like 2000-2001. Haha.

AFA upgrading/buying a new system "just" for BF3, I have a Sager NP9280 that I may upgrade the GPU and CPU on but that'd be about it.
I'm questioning whether that's really worth doing though, being a laptop the GPU upgrade is pricey as f--- and I can only bump it to GeForce 480M GTX (from 280M) for $895.
Add in a CPU and I may as well just by a new desktop system...

My gaming rig is about 5 years old or so but its got twin GTX260's in sli and a quadcore phenom2 @ 3.0ghz. It runs Crysis at 1080p just fine. I hope it runs bf3 at a "decent" setting. It should handle it for the most part. No plans on upgrading right now.

Well, to be honest... once the eye candy of a new game like BF3 wears off, I usually turn the graphics down anyway to get the maximum FPS I can.

How many people are going to upgrade or buy a new PC just for this game?

I have spent newly $1000 recently on gaming gear, now way can I justify another $1000 on an upgrade to my pc.

I read a review of the e3 footage of bf3 and it was written that some of the footage was actually from console. I find it very hard to believe, but can't help but get excited at the possibility. If anyone can do it, DICE can. However if it were any of Activisions goons, I wouldn't believe it for a second.

On another note, I am so excited for this game. I was over cod about a month after black ops came out. Absolutely disgusted in myself for spending another $120 (in Australia) on another buggy, lagging, frame rate dropping PS3 version of the game. So I went and bought bf bc2 from a pre owned sale. Only problem, all my mates won't even look at it. So I am still stuck playing lag ops with them! Thankfully bf3 has them interested, 'but only for campaign mode'... Fingers crossed multiplayer won't be too much of a learning curve that they pick it up quickly?

I spent $700ish just to play BF2 back in '05.  That PC lasted me till 2010.   I will be building a new PC just for BF3 (after I see how it turns out) I will get years of use out of it so it'll be worth it since I usually only play 1 game at a time for years at a time.  Like now, I've been playing BC2 since release and it's the only FPS I play.
