Modern warfare on PC will not let me use my xim

So I tried plugging in my xim in with mouse and keyboard to my PC, it works fine in the lobby but when I get into the game It said "Using mouse and keyboard visit options to change" Im not sure what I did wrong but it feels like xim apex only work on console for modern warfare, If anyone got any idea what Im doing wrong please help me.

Modern Warfare on PC supports mouse and keyboard. I would just use that.

It literally told you how to fix. "visit options to change." You have to change your input to controller under general tab
