I got my xim apex today and have not gotten it to work after hours of looking for solutions in the community forums.  When I plug in my peripherals to the hub the apex does not recognize the devices causing a red light and not flashing green. I have directly plugged my controller to the apex and have gotten 4 green lights. I am out of ideas someone please help. My controller is fully charged and I have also reset my ps4. It has the last eat firmware update as well and have factory reset it.

Welcome to the community. The red light flashing is normal but you should see green lights at startup too. It sounds like the three port hub may be the issue. Do your peripherals work with the hub if the hub is connected to a PC instead of APEX?

My 1st port for mouse lights up but only momentarily, the keyboard does not. Is the hub defective ?

It may be the hub or it may need a power adapter. If you have non-led peripherals to test with the hub and a PC the results can tell you whether it's power related or just the hub. The cost a powered hub is just a bit more than the cost of a power adapter alone. APEX supports USB 2.0 hubs officially but some have shared that 3.0 works as well. Here's a hub recommendation if you would like to test against the hub.

I tried turning off the leds from both the keybord and mouse bcs I thought that as well and have tried it with a different keyboard without leds. But, I am willing to try the hub out , will this hub replace the xim hub that is plugged into the apex?

Yes, the APEX hub is just a hub. Any other 2.0 hub is supported, 3.0 hubs while not officially supported are reported to work as well.
