Astro Mix Amp TR Gen 4, XIm Apex, XBOX one X
« on: 07:29 AM - 11/12/19 »
I have sound issues with my Mix amp.  While I have my XIM Apex connected, If I connect my mixamp I can not hear chat in games but I can hear party chat.  Also, I can not adjust the volume of the party chat independently with the mix amp, the mixamp just adjusts the volume of the game and party chat up or down, it will not separate the two.  I can not adjust the volume of the party chat in the xbox menu either.  When I move the sliders, they do nothing.

If I disconnect the Mixamp and use a 3.5 mm spliter on the xbox control with my headphones and separate mic plugged into the controller splitter, everything works fine.

My concern is that the mixamp uses a usb cable, plugged into the xbox for power and voice chat? The mixamp uses optical for game sound, that is how the separate the voice/game sound?  And i also notice that voice chat is being passed through the USB connection for XIM.  Is there a technical mix up with the two usb connections?

Does anyone have the mixamp gen 4 setup? Can they advise me on what the issues is?

There is no problem with Mix amp, Apex or Xbox, they are not broken.

An Xbox One does not allow In Game Voice chat to come through speakers when playing Xbox One games, with the exception of a very limited amount of games.

The only way to get the in game voice chat to come through speakers is to use a kinect ( and nobody makes that choice ).

To balance the Party chat Vs game volume your only option is to adjust the game volume in the game audio settings, usually you have to turn it down to something like 50% or lower to allow you to hear the party chat reliably.

There is possibly a solution to what you are attempting to do, but I do not own a mix amp or astro anything.

I will however see if Ican download the manual for the mix amp and try to figure it out for you, are there more that one model of mix amp, if so exactly what do you have?
