APEX LEGENDS UPDATE "connect a controller"

hello everyone.

as the title tells itself with the new apex legends update that came out 29th mars that upgrade the game to next gen (i have xbox series s) my XIM 4 wont work any more only in apex legends.

the problem is whenever i logged in it says "connect a controller". i tried turn it off, change usb port, lunch the game again and restart the xbox series s but still the same problem, which is "connect a controller".

when i take the controller off the XIM 4 and connect it by it self it let log in and everything as normal but NOT with xim connected. however my XIM 4 does work in every other game on my xbox series s as normal.

any help? is the problem from the xim that it needs a new next gen config or the xim needs an update?

There was a discussion on this a few days ago. The issue looks to be with the game (I was able to reproduce the issue without XIM at all). Can you please make sure your Xbox controller is updated? Plug your Xbox controller directly into your console and update it's firmware. This looked to have fixed it for people -- except for old controllers that can't be updated (like my Day One controller which doesn't work anymore when used directly with the game).

thank you for answering on my question.

i use an xbox elite controller and it is updated. the problem occurs only my xim 4 is connected.

when i plug the controller without the xim, nothing happens and everything goes ok. the problem is only appeared with the latest apex legends next gen update.

my xim works in every other game on my xbox.

Hello I was having this same issue and the fix someone pointed out that seem to work for everyone was changing it the dns settings on your console. Wow, thanks for posting this. And I agree with the comments: "why in Gods name would changing DNS setting fix a controller connection issue with a wired controller > the xbox." But appearantly it does for this game?

People claim this fixes it though.
