OVERWATCH SWITCH TRYING TO SETUP
« on: 04:12 AM - 10/21/19 »
Hello,

I own a switch with Overwatch installed, i was just wondering if anyone have an idea of how to setup the XIM APEX ST to work more or less OK. I'm already playing with xim connected via an adapter to a ds4 and from there to XIM.

I see that XIM is blinking purple all the time which means that it's not in sync ( normal for the lack of oficial ST )

I'm using the OW ST for PS4, and the aim feels kind of floaty, using 100 aa in game and 100 aaw don't have a feeling of a strong aim assist, i didn't make a lot of change in the ST because i don't really know what may affect or may not.. Are there someone more experienced than me to help me out and see if we can get a more accurate setting to play more or less fine??

Thanks

Regards

Reasnow isn't a good device. Titan Two is the better option if you want m/kb on Switch, and it supports XIM APEX to boot. That's kinda not the point though as he's already using an adapter to get the APEX working on Switch.

Switch isn't a supported XIM platform, so the STs are going to feel off regardless of how they're tweaked. Maybe go with one of the generic STs from the bottom of the Games list and adjust the first point on a Ballistics Curve until the deadzone feels right.

A Titan Two Input Translator may be the best option for Switch as everything is configurable (think of it as creating your own ST). But, T2 doesn't have the Expert features of XIM APEX.

Purple flashing XIM APEX lights has nothing to do with the ST. It'll be USB desync between XIM APEX and the adapter connecting to Switch. Try setting APEX's Response Rate to 125Hz to see if the issue resolves as Switch does not support higher USB polling rates.

Thanks for the response.

Yesterday i was trying to make a generic ST using linear ramp on Switch, just feelt weird. But i'll take your advice about the polling rate. I'm not able to buy a T2 so i'll have to stick to my current translator. I'll tell you how this goes and see if we can find a more or less functional ST to work for Overwatch.

Thanks

Hello again

I've tried all your remarks. The flashing purple lights desapeared changing the polling rate, I'm just tweaking the ballistic curve but i see a problem that i don't have an idea how to solve it.

When I'm doing micro movements side to side, not moving the mouse from the same spot vertically, it seems that in game the crosshair goes down vertically, even though the mouse is not moving vertically, which parameter do you think it has to be tweaked to avoid this?

Yes

It may be the deadzone shape (circle vs oval vs square). The generic STs at the bottom of the list have different shapes, it's worth trying them all.

use generic beta firmware then set sens to 1 and adjust boost till mouse start to move, then adjust sens. i noticed that almost all games on switch works well with generic beta firmware.

Thanks for your great tips, I've tried your system with all generic STs, putting aim to 1 and adjusting boost, then this problem.happens with all generics except for Alpha. When i move the mouse to the left slowly crosshair don't move, same as i move it upwards, then it moves only to the right or downwards. The best would be that crosshair moved the same way for all sites when sdjusting boost am i wrong?

Thanks again for youe Yes

did you set aim to linear in overwatch options? this difference berween left and right is strange, you can try to adjust x/y ratio in xim but i had never noticed this strange difference between left ans right and up and down. my overwatch setting based on generic beta st is not perfect at all but is playable.

Hey, indeed its strange, i have the linear ramp set on in game settings.

Maybe can you share your config? I'll try it out today, also I'm thinking of making a video about it. Also maybe it's the translator from switch to the ds4.. it's not a famous one... I use the generic beta for ps4 btw.

As said if you can share your full config this would be great

Thanks for all your help
