[ACTIVE] XIM APEX does not stop disconnecting
« on: 12:04 PM - 08/13/19 »
My setup is as follows

Keyboard: Corsair K68 RGB

Mouse: Logitech G500

Controller: Xbox One Elite controller

The xim works for 5 minutes max then disconnects everything, I've tried using an old Dell keyboard that I have and that didn't help, I tried to have my controller fully charged and that didn't help, the xim functions for .5-5 minutes before I have to unplug and replug it in. It's gotten super annoying because I keep dying in my games because of it, sometimes just the mouse will disconnect and as far as I know I have the latest firmware on my xim as of July 20. Either help me fix it or I want my money back.

Welcome to the community. Do you see a change in APEX light activity when this happens and if so what colors do you see?

In the meantime, stability issues like this can sometimes be fixed by replacing the controller cable. I recommend removing the controller battery and testing other cables with the controller.

No change in color, I'm using the Xbox charging cable that came with the controller, I'll try others but using the controller without a battery warrants the same issues

Changing out controller cables and taking in and out battery did not fix it, my Corsair keyboard lights are turned off as well

It's disconnecting more and more frequently, I have to unplug and replug almost 20 times in a 10 minute game, it's practically unusable and I spend more time unplugging and replugging than I do actually playing the game, please help me get this fixed soon

I noticed you're using a G500. These are prone to develop a cable short that can crash APEX like this. Could you test using another mouse or no mouse connected?

Got a new mouse and no problems so far, don't understand why the g500 causes that kind of problem, but thanks for the help, disappointed that I have to pay $50 for a $100 product to work correctly...

Older logitech mice have a defect that cause the cable to weaken over time near where it attaches to the mouse. When this portion of the cable becomes weak enough it will create a short causing the mouse to stop working and bringing down APEX. This isn't a fault of APEX but of your mouse. I've experienced and repaired the same issue in the past using a mx518, g400, and g500. Newer logitech mice don't seem to have this problem.
