[ACTIVE] XIM APEX
« on: 03:31 PM - 08/12/19 »
So I was able to use the XIM APEX for a short while but now it no longer works. I hook up just like normal and everything turns on as normal but no longer transmits data. Any suggestions?

Welcome to the community. Which console are you using?

Please disconnect and reconnect XIM to the console while watching XIM's startup light sequence. Do you see 4 green lights during this sequence? This indicates controller authentication and is needed for your mouse and keyboard to work. For reference the startup light sequence should look similar to this:

red, green, blue
red
green, green, green, green
red

If you do not see 4 green lights at startup and you have spare cables please test other cables with the controller.

I play on Xbox one and it does not light up in that sequence. I have tried multiple different cables and nothing is working.

Thanks for checking. We should verify the controller can be used in wired mode with the console next. This is required for your mouse and keyboard to work with XIM. Please run this test.

Disconnect XIM
Remove controller battery ( important )
Connect controller directly to console

Does the controller light turn on automatically without pressing buttons?

Itís does not light up without the battery when plugged into the hub given with the wireless configuration module. Is this the problem the hub not working?

It shouldn't be connected to the hub or apex for this test, the controller should be connected directly to the console without a battery.

Thanks for clarifying. If the controller is turning on by itself without pushing a button during this test then the controller is able to use wired mode. You tested with all devices earlier, could you test without the hub now? Connect APEX to the console then connect the controller directly to APEX without the hub. We're hoping to see a controller icon in Manager and the 4 green lights from APEX. The results will tell us if the hub or another peripheral is at fault.

There may be an issue with the hub or a conflicting peripheral. Try connecting APEX to the console with only the hub and controller attached. If you see  the 4 green lights at startup then connect the mouse and keyboard next. Use this port order below.
The preferred port order is below. The port number can be identified by the number of dots above the port.

port 1: mouse
port 2: keyboard
port 3: controller

It did not blink green 4 times. It does however pop up on the manager.

Does it help to use the controller in other ports of the hub?

No it does not. Would it be better to do a complete wipe and start from scratch? Or should I get a new hub I only have the one controller. Sit has worked on this one controller plenty of times. Just need to know what the best course of action is.

If you have a spare hub then yes, it would help to test it with the controller only like this recent test.

It does sound like an issue with the hub if the controller is authenticating without the hub but not with the hub solo. You could test this by either using another hub with APEX or connecting the hub to a PC and testing each port of the hub with a mouse or keyboard.
