Steelseries is typically rock-solid. Redragon...I'm not so sure.
There's a couple of other things to try -
1. Fully recharge your controller before connecting to XIM Apex. If on Xbox One, remove the controller battery.
2. Try a different data USB cable from the controller to XIM Apex.
3. If you have a spare powered USB hub, try replacing the XIM Apex USB hub with it.
Extra power at the m&kb should resolve power issues, but it may be something else.
If these don't help, work through troubleshooting with XIM support, they'll diagnose your issue and assist with a solution.
