Xim Apex set to Xim 4 is amazing!....

I personally like it a lot. I didn't need to add any smoothing at all. It truly shows that you don't need all of the extra stuff. It honestly feels more natural than anything I've used thus far. Thanks Od1n! I've tried this before yet failed because I didn't use default and turn the other things off.

What do you mean by setting Apex on XIM4? 125Hz with max DPI?

I've been using 125hz for a while now and I love it. That feeling reminds you immediatly of xim4's smoothness and how well it worked with Aim Assist.

I'm not sure if default is actually what XIM4 used though. Most people here have been claiming that XIM4 runs default sync 125hz but i read a post from OBsIV a while back saying something different.

You guys should check out Od1n's new tutorial on how to turn your Xim apex into a Xim 4. Pretty useful info.

nice to hear that you like it :)

Obsiv wrote several times in the past that its sync default, i guess in that post its just a typo maybe?
here is the orginial text of when synchronization has been added to the xim apex, sync default = 120-125fps = xim4
immediate = sync off

So which is it.. default sync or off sync.. I have noticed before that off sync feels best at 125hz feels identical to default sync at 125hz
if you want it to feel like xim4 its 125, default, watch the vid from xim.

Just tested 125Hz / Default Sync on XIM Apex and it felt nicer than 1000Hz / Common Sync.

Would you recommend also setting your mouse to 125Hz polling rate, or just leave it at, say, 1000Hz?

Edit - I was using 4000 DPI.  Will that make much difference on these settings as compared to, for example, 16000 DPI?

Cheers

sure you can go for 125hz on the mouse instead but it wont change a lot, the mouse dpi will however
more dpi usually doesnt work so well on cloth mousepads so its better to stay in the 3000-4000 dpi range
on plastic or hardpads you can of course use more dpi too

as long as the titan runs 125hz or higher you should be fine, so you might as well keep it at the setting that it uses right now.

I can almost guarantee that in two weeks when you lads swap back from 125Hz to 1000Hz that this same thread will be posted.

I used XIM Apex at 125Hz for almost a year while testing the Apex alpha and Titan Two beta. At the time, T2 didn't support 250, 500 and 1000Hz on XIM. The second I bumped up to 1000Hz, the smoothness and granularity of the mouse tracking was immediately obvious.

I guess my point here is it's fine and dandy to optimise your setup, but constantly changing your setup is doing more harm than good. Getting used to one setting, good or bad, will be better in the long-run. Dialing an Apex down to XIM4 is fun for sh!ts and gigles, but maybe not the best use of the device.

"so, this firmware uses the Boost setting to control Framerate Sync."

So synchronization is just different combinations of boost? So essentially its different levels of acceleration?

No it's not.   The first firmware that introduced synchronization settings just used Boost it's place basically because the Boost function back then wasn't doing anything it wasn't working like it is now and he needed space.

You shouldn’t use under 500 for mouse or xim if you wanna stay competitive
