Adjusting to XIM?
« on: 07:12 AM - 03/18/19 »
Hey everyone I am sure I just need time to adjust to using a K and M but it’s been 2 weeks and I really suck using it. I’ve noticed I’m getting better but it seems to be taking a very long time. My KD has drastically suffered in PUBG. Looking for words of encourgement or perhaps someone to tell me I made a mistake in buying this.

I've never played PUBG before so I don't know exactly. I have heard that PUBG has a horrible look mechanic and netcode issues that can make XIM a less enjoyable experience, I wouldn't want to start out with XIM on something like that..

Next thought, you're playing a Battle Royale game, which i'm guessing PUBG is no different than the rest. Is your movement suffering or your aim? I imagine that by now you should be getting used to the movement. If your aim is suffering, perhaps it is your config. You are also probably not getting much practice with gunfights, try practicing your aim as well. There are so many factors related to your config, the game you are playing, the equipment / mouse and keyboard that you are using, and so on.

Can you provide more specifics in to exactly is your issue? Are you having a hard time tracking targets, hard time hitting targets (getting through the AA bubble), hard time with mobility / movement, etc..?

I love PUBG but I would not learn K and M on that game.  The look mechanics are ok now after a years worth of patches but..... You might play 30 min and only encounter 1 enemy and then lose the gunfight.  That might frustrate you.  I would play any fps game that has a good team deathmatch where you can spawn in and have endless gunfights to practice.

When it comes to engaging the enemy. I play war zone which allows fast engagements and spawns.  Looting took a long time to figure out. I made a subconfig for it but it sucks having to push inventory, subconfig, than subconfig and inventory again. When it comes to movement.   Running to crouching, tilting and just moving around while engaging seems so difficult. This may change over time with more experience.

Look up the channel XIMGameplay, https://www.youtube.com/user/XIMGameplay

I have seen quite a few people there ask for a tutorial / guide for PUBG setup. I imagine that a tutorial will be coming soon. In the mean time, there are plenty of other relevant tutorials there that you can watch to get a better idea of how to find your perfect sensitivity, aux / sub configs, etc. If you find that the tutorials are too slow, you can set your playback speed to 1.25x and it will be just as clear.

There is also a discord for XIM with a space dedicated to PUBG, might be worth looking in to if you want advice from those who play it.

Hope that helps!
