Does anyone still play Black ops 4 ?
« on: 12:25 AM - 03/11/19 »
I personally quit that game months ago. In my eyes it is the worst implementation of all time (at least from the ones I've played. I skipped IW, and played WW2 for just a few hours before going back to Black ops 3 which was a much better game).

Black ops 4 from my experience is the worst all around FPS I've ever played. The game was broken. The hit registration and lag were awful. The manual healing and 150 health too, the specialists. The way Team Deathmatch was setup so that regardless of how good you are, if you have a bunch of idiots on your team there is no way you can do anything. The guns were boring. The strafing was extremely overpowered and broken if done by someone who knows what they're doing. There was (not sure if still is) a way to completely block the other person's aim assist by using a diamond camo , combined with going left and right really fast.

Just.....  idk what to say. There isn't a single positive thing I can say about black ops 4. The whole game felt awful - every aspect of it.

Really hope they're making MW4 this year. The whole gaming and movie industry has gotten really really stale.

I don't understand why no one is really complaing about the "servers" in bo4. I mean I agree with every point in your post, but the worst thing in this game is the horrible server performance and broken netcode.
Even if bo4 had better balancing, better map design and permanently no specialists, the game would still suck because of the trash 20hz servers. I know they've adjusted it several times and the game is allegedly running on 60hz but I don't feel anything from that. I keep getting killed behind cover, etc..
The lag comp was already unfair and broken in bo3, it works in favour for high pingers, but bo4 takes it to a new level. I have more tradekills in normal 5v5 multiplayer than I ever did in any other cod. Actually I can't even remember getting trade killed before bo4.

Meanwhile I see people on reddit bragging about camos they recently received from the black market.
haha. Cod has the most braindead community of all games.
Everyone cried about IW and BO3's advanced movement system (an amazing gameplay mechanic that increased the skillgap). I can't entirely blame the devs for the bad result of BO4. It is the game what most of the community (indirectly) asked for and deserves.

I used to defend the game. I thought it was good at launch and with patch 1.04 they fixed netcode and all engine issues perfectly. The aiming felt like an Infinity Ward game and hit registration was spot on. Then they dropped patch 1.05, which is the one that also introduced all the DLC if I'm not mistaken, and the aiming/netcode quality went into an all time low. They eventually improved netcode but never to the point of 1.04 and as of right now I would say it took Ghost's title as the worst COD in the main series.

I'm not going to get into all the terrible design but the fact they looked at the Brecci and all the complaints about it and said, "You know what we should do with it - make it so that on top of everything else it turns off the opposing player's aim assist." goes to show how idiotic Trasharch have become. I am definitely not buying their next game.

I bought the digital deluxe edition, already bored stiff, they don't give a @#$% about MP anymore, its a PITA to get the new guns, hate the specialists and the SBMM is nuts, I will be the only one going positive on my team game after game.

They've done everything to make this COD unfun and unplayable.  None of the guys I played with before are aver playing it, total fail.

I played MP last night. Aim felt fine. Hit registration felt fine. Servers weren't very busy though.

CoD has always appealed to the brain-dead, that's why it's so popular. There's nothing wrong with mindless fun.

I agree with just about what everyone here said. I tried to give to the game the benefit of the doubt cause my friend quit playing a month or so in and I've tried to make it until now and I'm barely hanging on. Waiting for The Division 2 and hoping that will revive my want to play some type of online game cause right now all I'm doing is playing single player type games.

The servers are crap on BO4, there dedicated server cloud hosting. the one I usually connect to is choopa. net .  but one thing you have to realize about BO4  is it will connect you to a peer. its not like COD years ago where if the host backed out the match would say host migration but its a hybrid server. I have the xr700 router so I can pick my server but if I let the game pick 7 out of 10 times it will be a peer.

In response to Lolpop's question, I no longer play it.

For perspective, I'm I was a die hard CoD fanboy. 'Been playing the franchise since 2007 and addicted to mp since summer 2012. I've loved every new iteration, including the advanced movement CoDs, up until WWII (which felt like a backward step to me; I went back to IW for a year).

I've always liked the fact that the developers have implemented new features with each new game to keep it fresh. Some I've loved, and some less so. Even Specialists in BO3 were surprisingly enjoyable, even though I would have preferred the game without them. And the introduction of Dark Matter and Hero rigs gave me challenges to grind all through the year until Infinite Warfare arrived.

I'm a good player, not great but I can easily hold my own in pubs. I always complete all the weapon challenges and can get the highest scorestreaks (and even the occasional nuke) if I tryhard.

But the Specialists in BO4 have robbed the game of enjoyment, for me.

No matter how well I'm playing, it's really difficult to go on a long streak when some n00b's Specialist ability can take you out without them expending any real skill. It introduces far too much randomness and caters to the unskilled player. I didn't hone my multiplayer skills to be taken out by somebody's randomly roaming dog, electric shock gun or free noobtube. They take out all of the satisfaction that I get from playing well. TheXclusiveAce expresses similar thoughts to mine in his latest video.

Unfortunately, even if Treyarch implement a no specialist playlist, I'm unlikely to return to BO4. Poor hit reg, a business model focused on micro-transactions, lacklustre scorestreaks, lack of challenges to complete, no Combat Record or Lobby Leaderboards and a hugely underwhelming Season Pass have all contributed to take the shine off the franchise for me. Maybe I'm just burnt out on the series after playing it for so long, but with so many great new shooters upcoming, Activision are going to have to come up with something a bit more fan focused to get me to return. I feel deflated. I've loved Call of Duty for years.

But I've now discovered Apex Legends...

I’ve had it since launch, and keep coming back to it every so often to see if anything changed. It’s always a let down.

COD for me, started dying after AW. I don’t know why all the new FPS games/BR are being centered around longer TTKs, healing systems, and “special abilities” that are unique to a specific character. It honestly takes away from what I remember COD and other competitive shooters to be.

BO2 is a great example of “futuristic” game design done right, no one shot ult, no micro transactions for weapons, and no insta heal system.

I feel like COD is trying to become something that’s the direct opposite of it’s core. Branching out is definitely a good thing but, they need to just make a new IP for experimental stuff. Then they’ll be able to see if that’s really a good direction to take.

I also liked specialists in BO3 but agree that 4 went overboard. Personally, i hate Torque the most. These are small @#$% maps to begin with and he can easily block off what feels like a quarter of it. Then camp a spot with only one entrance available with the SG12.

Specialists in BO3 were so balanced that most of the time I didn't feel like taking the risk that was involved in engaging your ability and just preferred to stick to the main gun. BO4 abilities are of the "here's some free kills" variety.

I really hope MW4 doesn't have specialists. All MW4 needs to be is just MW2 with better map design. If MW4 has super powers and Quake TTK I'm not even bothering.

Sold it few days ago on ebay for 35 euros. There was a bundled 1100 cod points code with my copy- i didnt even use it.

I mean lets be absolutely honest here- when IW released cod4 in 07, it was quite a breakthrough and set a new reference for MP fun fps games. Couple years after that cod studios competed with each other to perfect the formula and it worked most of the time.

Ever since the franchise became a huge money making machine with supply drops in the focus starting with IW, it lost its soul and creativity. Most effort went into after sales content, rather than the retail game itself. Devs seem to be copying stuff from other mp games out there, alá lets throw everything we can at the wall and hope that something will stick, and then try to “improvize”, somehow.

They just dont bucking know what theyre doing, its like theyre trying to reinvent the wheel, rather than focusing on cods core strenght and building the rest on top of that.

But then again, as long as dumb fanboys keep buying so much aftersales supply drop bs, we shouldnt expect a great cod out of the box anymore, so heres that.

Franchise burnout boys...

From my perspective, BO3 was easily the most fun CoD MP. I tried all of the earlier games and completed the campaigns, but frankly, MP looked and played like complete crap on console. IW continued that tradition of mediocrity, I haven't touched WWII. BO4 gets closest to what I enjoyed in BO3. Specialists don't bother me, I got used to that BS playing Destiny.

I see BO4 as a filler game - something to do one evening a week, nothing more. From that perspective I enjoy BO4, in the same way as Overwatch, Destiny 2, Titanfall 2, Apex Legends, Fortnite, Battlefront, Battlefield etc. Taken in small doses, I'll play just about anything. But I wouldn't dedicate myself to any of them, they're just not fulfilling on their own.

Its not franchise burnout tbph. Most ppl want a carbon copy of BO2, just bigger, better, shinier, with more weapons, better graphics, better netcode and thats basically it. Ppl would enjoy this kind of cod for months/years.

No specialist bs, no jetpacks, no participation medals/trophies, no lag advantages for bad connection players, none of that bs.

Theyve still yet to deliver the above described cod.

Only after tgey release such a cod game and it doesnt sell well and do well in online player #s- thats when I would talk about franchise burnout.

But no, these clowns are stubborn mfs and only focused on maximizing after sales profit as much as possible and make the game appealing to every single gimp out there who couldnt walk and chew bubble gum simultaneously, but do decently in todays cod games thanks to a ton of participation rewards built in.

The franchise is far from a burnout, its just the corp greed that destroys the game for most cod fans.
