Bro i just bought a g502 hero and i have not missed a shot all day. The hero sensor is amazing af. About to swap the bottom where you put theweights in and just return my reg g502 lmfao. (Says g502 hero)

That's pretty interesting. Is it because at very high dpi laser is actually better than optical? You obviously know your stuff and the question was which mouse is best for the Apex.

Can you expound on your findings a bit?

Laser mice suck in general due to acceleration. I have the Ventus, nice size but lacking in other areas.

Arguably the Pixart 3310 feels the best, but it’s a close race with 3360-based sensors and the Hero. They all perform really well, so it comes down to size, shape, grip, buttons etc.

Jitter is environmental, otherwise we’d all experience it on a Xim, or running a mouse at 1000Hz. Some mice can’t hold a steady 1000Hz, which can cause jitter, but it varies from mouse to mouse.


Keep you gear clean, pair the mouse with a good pad and stay relaxed to minimise the risk of jitter. If it persists, use Sync and Smoothing in Xim Manager to clean it up.

Some Ximmers are having issues with the Logitech Wireless Pro and G502 Hero not working correctly at 1000Hz.

If the Wireless Pro kept the button behind the scrollwheel and was a touch smaller, I'd be all over it. I'll be picking up a G305 this weekend - I love my G Pro and the 305 is the wireless, Hero version of it.

G502 for the Win and 500Hz PP or R600 for the Win also but with 1000Hz PP ;-)

I find the G502 Proteus Spectrum to be much better and stable than the new Hero g502, acutally besides the shape/size/buttons that I got used to it , the weight feels right on the spot for me. I did some tests with it, and keeps a constant 1000mhz... tried the Hero , doesn’t feel the same...at least no for me so i went and got a backup Proteus Spectrum just in case the one I have will die at some point. The new one as well(Proteus Spectrum) keeps a 1000mhz so I have no complains...

The Rival 600 might be the best, great sensors, amazing aim, 3 buttons on the left

Definitely the Rival 600, I’ve tried the G502 and hero version and they literally feel exactly the same, only plus is the cable on the g502 hero as my regular g502 cable braiding started pinching on the first day with the first mouse I had and within a week or so with the second.

G502 probably has better buttons but after a couple days, you get used to the Rival 600 Buttons. I also use it with the Sony Nav so there are definitely enough buttons.

I use a G903 AMD nav controller. For me is awesome. I have almost nothing to say cons, except for more buttons in the left side I wish.
