so you're saying if i bought a bmip i could run my xbox hdmi -> bmip input, and run another hdmi from bmip output -> tv and play?

Yes you can do this but the catch is in order for the bmip to passthrough your feed you need to be recording using the software. I use the included media express software. So basically if you have two displays one for xbox and pc, you will not be able to browse the web and play xbox at the same time unless you're recording.

To get around this problem I bought a powered hdmi splitter so I can use the computer and play xbox without having to always record.

if your using BMIP media express software, as soon as you start your xim2 software the screen will go black if your not recording to get around this you can virtualdub software.
photo 1, is virtualdub software runing with bmip with out recording.
photo 2 is the hdmi cables going into the bmip,on the left is the xbox hdmi cable, next to that is the tv hdmi cable and the big one on the right is bmip component lead for ps3.
