I realize what I'm about to say goes against some well known xim aficionados but I've found a setting that is a compromise in smooth mouse movement and a controller like aim assist feeling. I always felt like at certain mid to long range engagements the aim assist bubble felt like two same polarity magnets that was pushing my aim either too far or too little from my target, making it feel like my sensitivity was too high with no control in fine mouse movements. I turned my in game sensitivity down to 12 and instantly felt a controller like aim assist. I was able to stay on target at every range. I haven't touched the xim manager since turning down in game sens..with sync off, 1000hz,12kdpi..
