Hey Mist, I know you mentioned wanting to be notified when a training mode was available that doesnít time you out..  I just figured Iíd test it this morning and Iím going to continue to leave it running but Iím at around 4 hours in the shooting range, which is Play> training > shooting range..  no inputs after 10 minutes, just left the controller on and itís been sitting..  Iíll update when I get home to see if it is still going

This is what I've recently attempted and unfortunately the game does end after some time. Maybe it's changed? I didn't see anywhere near 4 hours.

My PlayStation was shut down when I came home so Iíll have to try again and make sure my power save options or whatever are off..  Iíll try and get real results on when\if it times out later...

What aiming settings are best for an ST?

I have dynamic, medium inner, minimal outer, acceleration is user choice. I don't recall the reason for medium inner but it could be the micro movement compared to small and minimal.

I'm going on 3 hours in the practice range again, this time my 3 year old has been playing with the controller on and off so it hasn't been "AFK"... turned the auto sleep off to make sure that isn't why it cut out last time..

I made the original topic a few days ago that you closed.

When you told me the training mode timed you out I tested it as well.

I had 5+ hours in training uninterrupted, until i had a power surge during storm.


I don't know if it's 12+ but I see no reason why 5+ hours isn't enough time to test even if you have to restart.

I got my best results from using precision aim. But it still wasn't great.

Mist, I totally believe you that it timed you out.. Paladins has gone through a ton of changes..  no denying it... in fact it has only been a couple months since they added aim assist magnet and friction settings so any work you did prior to that point would have been totally screwed with anyways...  I am 6+hours into the training mode now and I'm shutting it down as I've got some friends getting on to play in a bit..  I hope that they've got the game in a place now that putting in the time to get an ST won't be a waste of your time..  Sorry for beating the horse - i'm just doing my part in letting you know that the training mode does appear to be in a state that would allow for training an ST..  Whether the aiming mechanics allow for it is another thing..

Precision aim has a "velocity jump" at the deadzone. It's like pre-patch Payday 2.

These were training results using each aim type and knob settings from three months ago.
What's the advantage of using dynamic over classic? Diagonals, turn speed, time-based acceleration,..?

Thanks, Zaknefein. I'll add this to my queue and take another look.

TSARGA, I didn't keep notes but looking at the data it looks like dynamic has a larger and more consistent look mechanic. Then again I think there are issues training this game at max sensitivity so that may be irrelevant. I don't have useful information for you but I will compare the two the next time I look at the game.

Jasonmck, I do remember precision aim was the worst of the three aim types. I want to say that there is no micro movement but I haven't looked at this in a long time so there could be another reason.

Cool I look forward to your findings. Would love to get this working with xim. If you aren't able to get it up to your standards with xim at least we know you tried.
