Set up - How to ???
« on: 06:02 AM - 01/22/08 »
Guys I wanna ask you how to hook up XIM with your PC step by step.
Basically, I would like to know what software to install on my PC so that
XIM will work and would be recognized.
Is the software provided by OBSIV on this page enough to run XIM???
Any info welcome.
Thx

Yes the software you can download off this site will do. Your XIM connects to your pc via USB then the XIM connects to the XFPS via PS2 cable then your XFPS connects to your XBOX 360. You need a older wired controller (or Madcatz controller) to connect to the XFPS to register the controller.

Btw, XFPS PRO isnt sold anymore, can I use the newer version 3.0 SNIPER??
And what do you mean by alternate wired controller. The original MS dont work?

The sniper is fine thats what I use. The "x/y" wheels are not used with the PS2 port. You need a WIRED controller to bypass the security of the XBOX. Some controllers do not work MS Serial # ending in 001 - 004 seam to work, newer ones do not. The madcatz controller does work (I use that) You will also need a wireless headset since the port on the controller is not used thru the XFPS so wired headset is not supported.

To get more specific on this matter.

The xfps is there nothing more than to allow the xim to work.

What you do is you

A. Plug in the XFPS to your 360
B. Plug in a wired controller to the xfps via one of the usb plugs
C. Turn on your 360, wait for the controller to flash and assign itself to a channel (on the ring of light on the 360 and the controller)

Once A through C are good and you can use the controller to zip around the menus of xbox live guide - the xfps and controller work.

THEN you hook up the xim up, take your config file and drop it on the .exe file to open it up (or just use the default, but you'll soon change that hah :) )

once the xim program opens up you should be able to zip around menus on screen using the arrow keys or whatever you put as your keys (I use the WASD keys to move around).

basically, then you just tweak it to your liking and voila!!! its magic.

Months old so likely resolved.

I'm closing this post and if anyone still needs some help they can start a new more current post.
