Question for the Alpha testers
« on: 02:05 PM - 02/13/18 »
I am currently using the G502 and I absolutely love it and for my PC I am using the scream one second addition and they just came out with a new mouse called ultralight apparently itís the lightest mouse on the market which I currently love a light mouse, but the problem is itís got a polling rate of 500hz max so my question is how does the xim apex handle with 500hz vs 1000hz?

you can hardly tell a difference between 1ms and 2ms so you might as well go with your other mouse :)
check if it has onboard memory and a minimum of 3000 dpi as that matters too
if the mouse sutters on 500hz because it cannot maintain a constant 500hz (eg dips between 400-500) then just add some smoothing and itll run perfectly fine

Unfortunately it has no onboard memory but it has the max dpi of 3200  which kind of worries me what are your thoughts on that Max Dpi at 500hz do you believe itís too low ?

3200 DPI and 500Hz should be perfectly fine. I'm running 3K and 4K DPI @ 250Hz (500 & 1000Hz toss purple lights on Titan Two) without any problem. I've also played around with 500 and 1000Hz without the T2, again with no issues.

I think quite a few people will be using 500hz so they can use 1/2 the Xim Sens as 1000hz. Plus not all mice poll consistently @1000hz.

If you want a super lightweight modern Logitech mouse AND 1000hz... consider the G203. I did the majority of my alpha testing with one and it is superb.

Is the G502 considered a mouse that can consistently poll at 1000hz? What smoothing # would you suggest for this mouse and the Apex (obviously personal preference) but just wondering how high it can go before you get negative returns in performance.

using lower response rats will automatically result in natural smoothing, i dont think you will need additional smoothing with 500hz unless you want to change the aim assist behaviour :)

the g502 has no issues running in 1000hz, it doesnt seem to dip to lower rates :)

Thanks for all the info guys. Itís going to save me and Iím sure other tons of time when getting our hands on it. Whatís your recommended settings for first person shooters like destiny call of duty overwatch?  Example Dpi/Polling/smoothing I understand everyoneís different and will tweak it the way they like it but Iím just curious what you guys use.

i prefer 1000hz 0 smoothing and a sensitivity of around 100-150 across all games with 3200 dpi :)
this is similar to a sensitivity of 15 on a xim4 with 3200 dpi
