Setup question about analogue inputs
« on: 06:40 PM - 01/09/18 »
Hello everyone,

Currently I am trying to find a solution to get 2 digital inputs read by the xim4 as analogue inputs. Currently I have a button box with 2 custom switches and for racing games I am stuck to digital inputs so no throttle control, only on/off. Could I hack up a controller with analogue bumpers and use the inputs to make modular pressure inputs with my own switches?

Any suggestions? This is my setup I use: http://bit.ly/2qP4JLy

I read over your setup -- could you tell me in what form you'd like your analog control to be? Meaning, how do you want them located in your setup and how do you want to activate them?

Yes, uhm instead of X and square for gas and brake, I would like to have pressure sensitive buttons, and I will drop the mouse in the setup as  brake so both left-hand switches I will need to make pressure sensitive. If I want control over both gas and brake. Maybe I can start with just gas to see how exactly everything has to be situated

Unfortunately XIM4 only does digital mappings. XIM APEX (upcoming) supports analog mappings too which will give you a lot more options. Can you find an analog switch solution that will work in your setup that also presents itself as a standard USB joystick?
