[RESOLVED] Xim4 randomly shutting down
« on: 03:05 PM - 12/26/17 »
After using many different mice my Xim4 keeps shutting down due to too much power.
I fully charged the controller used wireless and wired mice but nothing is working.

What light sequence do you see on XIM4 when this occurs?

I would start by connecting the controller directly to the console to charge for 1 hour. XIM4 should be disconnected while charging. This could help if it's a power issue.

When a device has disconnected XIM4 will flash the problem port number in three sets of yellow. Example:

port 1: 1 flash x 3 sets
port 2 : 2 flash x 3 sets
port 3 : 3 flash x 3 sets

The next time this happens try to note how many flashes there are in each set. Let me know if the 1 hour charge time on the controller helps.

That's normal, you're exceeding the max turn speed limit. Console games have a maximum speed that they allow you to turn. This max turn speed will vary between games and is a limit set by the game developer. XIM4 flashes red lights when you've reached the turn speed limit. If you continue moving faster than what the game allows then that movement is ignored and you may see less movement as a result. By either lowering your sensitivity or moving your mouse slower to stay under or ride the turn speed limit should result in more onscreen movement.

About your shutoff issue. You may need to update your firmware. An 8 minute disconnect issue is fixed in the latest build. This is a manual update that requires a PC or Mac. If you think you're up to date please share the firmware version number found in Manager's menu-about.

You can find the latest firmware below. Please read the instructions on the download page.

Is XIM4's light solid blue before using the flash tool? This is necessary to use the tool. Here are the instructions.

Instructions:

  • Hold down the 'P' button on the back of your XIM4
  • Plug your XIM4 into your PC while continuing to hold the 'P' button
  • Wait for your XIM4's light to display blue and then release the 'P' button
  • Download and run the XIM4Flash tool
  • Select Update or Factory Reset (requires re-pair of your XIM4 to your devices)
  • Disconnect your XIM4 from your PC after the tool completes
