USB Hub
« on: 01:23 PM - 05/29/17 »
I have a Roccat Apuri USB 2.0 Hub that has my Keyboard and Mouse plugged into the Hub. The hub then has a Usb cord going from the hub to my computer. I tried to use a Male - Male USB 2.0 cord to then connect the Hub to the Xim4 but it seems that the Xim4 Doesn't recognize something in that whole mess of a connection. I'll post a somewhat crude drawing of the setup to try and explain the setup a little better, I'm also going to post links to the items being used so you can check the specifications. Any and all help on this matter would be very appreciated. The mouse and keyboard have worked on the Xim4 when independently plugged in but I get power issues with the keyboard and I was thinking that this Hub setup would be more convenient, then unplugging everything every time I want to use a different device.

I can't find a link for the USB Cable I'm using to connect the Hub to the Xim4 but I know its a Male A - Male A USB 2.0 cable.

I can also provide actual pictures of the setup if that would help, I'm just being lazy right now so that's why I did that crude drawing

Why is the hub attached to your computer?

I would start by updating XIM4 to the latest firmware to take advantage of the latest hardware support.

You can find the latest firmware below. Please read the instructions on the download page.

Its attached to my computer for quick switching between my PC and Xbox (well in theory if it worked) Also I updated to the latest firmware before setting everything up.

I don't see switching capability on your hub, try disconnecting it from your PC and only attach it to XIM4. Attach the power cable to an AC adapter if the hub has this option. If you continue to have issues with this hub then I would try another 2.0 hub.

You need a USB switch for that, like an IOGear GUS404. It's a 4-port hub that allows you to swap m/kb between PC and Xim4.

I used a Roccat Apuri for several years with multiple generations of Xim, so it should be rock-solid.
