[RESOLVED] Xim4 randomly stopped working

Ive had xim for awhile now and its never given me any problems then out of nowhere it stops. It shows my controller and everything on the app, but when i touch the controller or mouse and keyboard i get no feedback,my contoller is just blinking cause its charging

Welcome to the community. When this happens do the lights on XIM4 change? Could you see if mouse and keyboard presses show on the Manager HUD screen when this happens?

As a step one you should first disconnect XIM4 then connect the controller directly with the console until fully charged. You can have disconnects like this if the controller battery is low.

The controller is fully charged. The xims light is just breathing blue (thats the color that specific game config is set to

Thanks. When it disconnects are the mouse and keyboard still responsive in the Manager app? You should be able to see key presses on the HUD screen and also reassign buttons in the edit config screen. Are these working when the disconnect happens?

No the app does not respond to key presses

Which mouse and keyboard are you using?

This can happen for two reasons, a usb issue with the console which is resolved by hard reset or an attached cable or device conflict. Becaues it's intermitten I don't think a reset will help so we can move on to this test.

1) Disconnect XIM4 from the console
2) Disconnect the controller from XIM4
3) Reconnect XIM4 to the console with the mouse and keyboard attached but the controller disconnected
4) Test for input in Manager

If you can see input in Manager from your mouse and keyboard this indicates an issue with one of the following

- Controller cable
- XIM4 cable
- Controller

It's usually the controller cable so I would begin by trying other cables with the controller. If replacing the controller cable doesn't help you could try replacing the XIM4 C cable to the console. If you find that the micro usb cables you have on hand are not resolving the issue then I recommend trying cables by amazon or anker.

There is input in application when i did what you said however ive tried many cables and they all recognize that a controller is plugged in on the app but it just charges my controller? I hope I'm making sense to you english isnt first language

1) If you've tried replacing the controller cable then the next step is to try the replacement cable between XIM4 and console.

2) I've had many instances where a user will try two or three cables before they find one that is good enough to be used as a data cable with the controller. The cables linked above are verified to be good data cables.

3) In rare cases it can be the controller itself and using another controller may help.

That's good to hear. I'm glad it was an easy fix. :)

If you purchased in the last year through our shop or a store on the shop page.

Then you could RMA the cable by logging into your store account on the shop page. I don't know that this is available if you purchased XIM4 through a third party like ebay or amazon.
