Grifta x-input(xbox 360) mode not working at all

Tried the update twice (the latest one) but a trigger pull still results in my screen looking down on Dinput.

Well, it was Grifta what was fixed, not us.

Not looking that way unfortunately, the FW update did nothing to improve DInput usability for Xim. Per a follow up email received from Paul; 'Xim will re-add d-input support in a month or two'.

I'm using the 'updated' grifta and it's playable on COD:IW but seemingly not on anything else (if you want true radical movement)
I fear that once I move on from COD, the grifta will go in the drawer with my Xbox360 controllers.

Yup:

1) digital triggers - even with trigger locks on an Elite controller there is still quite a lot of travel. Having purely digital triggers means ADS is instant, feels so @#$% good.

2) max spin radius is smaller, so it's easier to do rapid left / right peeks. The Switch Pro controller has the same spin radius as the XB1 pad so in a way the Wii U Pro is better than Switch Pro.

Now I don't hold mine like a regular controller - it's not comfortable for long periods of play. I rest mine with the middle bottom part on my lap (https://imgur.com/a/4zzte), and the Wii U Pro has some further advantages for this:


3) The triggers have plastic under them to prevent them from scraping up against my lap when I pull them. The XB1's triggers touch my lap which adds friction. Switch Pro has the same problem too.

4) the base is wider and flatter than the XB1 pad so it fits more comfortably on my leg.

I've tested pretty much every controller under the sun and this plays the best IMO.

Thanks for the detailed and thorough response. I'll have to find one and try it out. After disappointments with the current one handed solutions, I've been thinking about trying a standard controller with one hand next. I'm on PS4 and the DS4 thumbstick location isn't ideal for one hand. I was going to try an xbox one controller, but based on your notes, I'll try the Wii U Pro. I'd love to see the Grifta working properly, but ideally it should have had the thumbstick and digital pad swapped as I find that more comfortable when using one hand.

A few caveats though:

Because the Wii U Pro controller isn't supported by XIM you need a Titan Two.

And because the T2 sits downstream of the XIM you won't be able to use ADS profiles, so it's only good for games that don't have a separate ADS mechanic like Rainbow Six Siege, not COD.

If you don't play Siege or a game without a different mechanic, I would recommend the XB1 pad, and buy one of these bad boys:

You can buy them on Amazon for about $15-25. It only stops the triggers about half way but they're better than nothing.

If you want the grifta to work in analog mode with proper trigger pulls with the xim4/apex right now, order this Mayflash Magic-NS Wireless Controller Adapter for Nintendo Switch & PC for around $20 from amazon

1) set the magic-ns adapter to d-input mode once plugged into the xim4/apex.
2) set the grifta to x-input mode (green) and plug the grifta dongle into the magic-ns adapter.

Configure buttons in the xim4 and enjoy.
