KVM Switch - Single Input Support XIM4?
« on: 02:41 PM - 01/12/17 »
Hi all, I am looking at a KVM which supports HDMI so I can switch between the PC and PS4 on the single monitor.  Most of the KVM's that I've seen have 2 separate inputs for both mouse and keyboard, however the output is a single USB 3.0b port as shown in the pic below. My question is, does the Xim4 support both mouse and keyboard over a single input or do they require their own seperate ports?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Welcome to the community. Yes, this is possible but there is no way to know if this switch is compatible until its been tested.

Thanks mist4fun,
This was just a generic switch to give an understanding as to what I was talking about.  It seems the newer gen of KVM switches are coming out with that output.  I just wanted to know if the Xim would handle both devices on the one input.  Also does it matter which port on the xim the input goes into?
