They actually called it "Exponential Ramp"? Then changed the default aiming system that their community of gamers have grown used to and expect there wouldn't be any confusion or fallout? Has Blizzard lost their minds?

We won't be training an ST for this new default aiming system they added since it's a broken design that no one will use.

Ok I have found a solution for myself...I like a little bit lower sensitivity so adjust as necessary for yourself.

I have my mouse at 3200 DPI, 1000hz polling rate.
In game sens at 100/100.
Aim assist set to 95.
Aim technique is Exponential Ramp.

XIM4 firmware is on the latest stock firmware, NOT the beta.
On to the XIM4 manager settings:
Sensitivity: 14.75
No curve
Y/X ratio: 1
Boost: 6350
No turn assist.
No steady aim

Try this out and see if it works for you. It still needs some tweaking, but it helps with the slow diagonal aiming.

DISCLAIMER: If you like to do flick shooting you cannot do it with this set up because of the high boost.

It's pretty stupid to change it up on people, I wouldn't mind the option though.  Is there a particular reason why its terrible?  At least on controller it feels "tighter" than the exponential ramp, a step closer to CoD if that makes sense.  I don't know that much about aiming mechanics though, its just what I feel.

blizzard updates overwatch every 1-2 month, so the earliest we can expect a controller mechanic change is quite some time away :/
assuming they patch it with the next update

the exponential mode also doesnt feel like the previous default mechanic, the horizontal/vertical ratio is off making diagonal movements feel pretty off and strange, also the maximum turnspeed is much lower but has a velocity jump as it seems

Not an Overwatch player here...

But having suffered for 9(?) months while 343i fixed Halo 5's controls, I feel your pain.

What is with these companies? This stuff made sense 15 years ago when they were still coming to terms with dual analogue, and while players needed some sort of crutch, but now, this is just clueless developers delusional that their "innovations" are somehow welcomed by the community. Very sad.

I always assumed that since there's a better chance Halo 6 will be on PC, future halo games will have better controls...but since Overwatch is also on PC and STILL suffers on consoles, I have to wonder now...

Jesus.

People saying it's unplayable have either not switched the control method back to the previous default from dual-zone or are simply exaggerating. I've been playing quick play and Junkenstein hard for hours and my McCree with my curve and 20 sens has never been more accurate. 65+ percent.

65+ percent.

What do you mean by 65+ percent?

I mean my accuracy with McCree tonight was averaging around 65-67 percent, when I've normally averaged 40-50 percent.

Are you basing that percentage from the Halloween brawl? Those bots all move predictably, have giant hitboxes, and don't fire back.  My accuracy is through the roof with McCree as well, but that's because it's as if I'm on the practice range, shooting at the training bots instead of actual unpredictable players with smaller hitboxes/hurtboxes.

After a few games it does seem pretty broken now :/

Diagonal movements are making something strange happen.

try to make diagonal movements and youll instantly notice how off the exponential ramp mode is
then try to make fast mouse movements and youll see its overall much slower than before

I may think this is a bigger deal than others, but the new dual-zone aiming mode has a SLIGHTLY FASTER max turn speed! Perhaps the ST should be built on it..

It's barely noticeable (try it with your controller), but it'd make a difference if the ST was built for it.
