What's the biggest miracle an ST has ever performed? XIM veterans chime in  (Read 1565 times)

I've only had the XIM for about 3 years so I don't know all the history of it. So far the most mind blowing ST for me has been Halo 5. It transformed this game from a virtually unplayable product from a tone deaf developer to something that almost resembles 1:1 controls.

I was also really impressed at how the v4.1 Rainbow Six Siege ST was able to remove the stutter. Another clever use of an ST to work around some in game problems.

I'm curious as to what other miracle ST's are out there?

the first ST in Halo 3 was crazy to experience coming from all the standard translators on the xim2, and i really liked the Halo Reach standard translator experience
the step up was crazy, and Halo 3 doesnt have a really good aim-system

Wow I thought H5 was an outlier. So is it safe to say that the Halo series in general has always been problematic? I thought it was just 343i wanting to be "innovative"?

Halo is the series that motivated me to create XIM's Smart Translation system. Every Halo game has an extremely difficult aiming system. That's impossible to model using "standard" methods of translation.

How would you rank all the Halo games in terms of ST difficultly? Worst to best, e.g.

1) Halo 3
2) Halo 5 initial release
3) Halo 5 current state
4) ???

The biggest problem with Halo 5 is that velocity jump. Any game that has something like that is bad due to the fact that there is simply large amounts of reticle movement that just isn't possible.

Xim 3 prevented me from running out of bullets due to poor controller aim in Uncharted. Everything since has been the cherry on top.

When a game has heavy time-based acceleration and velocity jumps, unfortunately nothing can be done. I can't imagine even controller players liking that as it's non-deterministic (it's hard to reproduce the same movement twice consistently). But certain developers insists on putting that in there for some reason.

When a game has heavy time-based acceleration and velocity jumps, unfortunately nothing can be done.

You guys managed to bring H5 near 1:1 and that has a big velocity jump.
