Get Xim4 or wait?

Yes i experienced the m/kb with the xim3 and while it may not be on point like some say with PC, it does the job for me. Back with the xim3 i was keeping up with everyone else on black ops and battlefield. I really enjoyed it but unfortunately i sold my xbox because i got bored with gaming. But im back!

If you're coming from the Xim3 to Xim4, you'll find the transition easy. Instead of the on-board display, Xim4 uses  a PC, Mac, iOS or Android app. Other than that, it's pretty much the same experience, with more bells and whistles.

I have some questions in regard to using the xim4 with the new xbox one S.

Will i still be needing a wired controller to be plugged in all the time like the previous xim's? Not the charging cable but the actual hard wired controller?

Also does anyone know if the xbox one S will allow gameplay online with friends who are using the xbox one? I remember xbox one friends werent able to play with xbox 360 friends online. Wasnt sure if this is the case this time around or not with the new xbox one S coming out.

That was only ever a people with 360. No other system has needed this.

Xbox One S is just a moniker for XB1 Slim. Same sh!t, different bucket, slightly more grunt under the hood.

Where things will get a bit more complicated in Xbox Scorpio, which is more or less XB1+. I imagine online MP will still work because the difference will be similar to Medium settings (XB1) vs Ultra settings (Scorpio) on a PC.

The core game will be the same on both consoles (they're both in the Xbox One family), but we're likely to get 60FPS on Scorpio and 30FPS on XB1 / XB1 S, which is a distinct advantage.

The current gen of controllers are actually wired when used with a cable. I do recommend that you purchase your own 3' micro usb cable to use with the controller, the one that comes with each console isn't the best for data.

Xbox One and Playstation 4. The consoles include a 3' micro usb cable for the controller. They are low quality and are known to have issues with XIM4 over time. It would be best to use another one. I like the amazon basic and anker cables.

I would stay away from any wireless mouse that isn't designed for gaming. Desktop wireless mice are optimized for battery life which means you'll feel delay/latency if you use this mouse for gaming.
