The Division (Naga + Sony Nav) PS4 Button Layout
« on: 10:37 PM - 02/26/16 »
NOTE: I understand this is a VERY specific button layout that is not going to be useful to most. Im using a Razer Naga Hex and Sony Nav. I just like being prepared and discussing these things so we can all get the best setup for our playstyles/gear.

NOTE 2: Ive tried to stay as close to my other FPS/shooter profiles so that I dont need to keep readjusting so I'm pretty content with the core commands and layout.

NOTE 3: The main problem area is using the mouse to select the 3 radial menus (grenade types, consumables, emotes). Using turn assist, you can easily map ONE of those 3 and it works perfectly. However, we (seemingly?) have yet to find a solution to mapping the other 2. Sub-profiles with their own turn assist don't seem to work either. When using the mouse to select within the radial menu, the item won't stay highlighted so it's basically impossible to use. * Any suggestions/resolutions for these radial menus will be hugely appreciated to all of us! TYIA.

NOTE 4: Layout is not set in stone yet. I may still move these around since they are so important:
skill 1 / skill 2 / grenades / medkit / reload / cover

* I didn't get a good feel for D-pad up (mark targets) at all during beta so it seemed very low priority. Agree/Disagree?

Here's my setup as of the last open beta. Will update when relevant if anyone cares.

I have tried the Splinter cell st and it works Ok for me. Micro movements we not smooth and felt slow( im a higher sens player). I went threw 70% of the sts in the library and by far the newest halo 5 st is the best, it has acceleration so use a curve to slow it down, I use 1.3 ratio for both Hip and Ads, I will post my curve when I can. Using the g502 at 12kdpi 500 polling works great for what it is. However this all may change as the game has noticeable input lag we are trying to get fixed an the developers have acknowledge it on the Ubi forums. So dont be surprised if your setup feels off compared to the beta. Hopefully they fix it by launch and and Mist has a official st up for us a few days after release.

Are you using a Nav as well? I'm more curious about people's actual button mapping; practical rationale for placement, priority, etc.

For example, it would nice if we could get ADS + Zoom mapped to a single button. I remember asking about this before for BF3 but I don't remember seeing a solution.

I'm curious too if anyone found a practical use for "Marking" (D-pad up). Does it only work for the party leader? Is it even helpful? (ie, does it work like "spotting" in BF series? If so, very helpful.)

While it may not be perfect, I felt the suggested ST worked for me during beta. Best way to summarize it, I didn't feel completely awkward like I do in most games at the beginning. Getting even better handling with an official ST will only be better so I can't wait!

I do not use nav I have tried it and didn't like it as I didn't have as many buttons at my disposal. I use the orb weaver and have better control esp in the division where strafing in the dz helps a lot. Here's my curve for ads:

Halo 5 guardians St, im on ps4 and it an xbox only but works great regardless.

>>> XIM4 [Mouse Ballistics] START PASTE >>>
X4MB:AAAAGgA0AC4AMAAwAC4AMgAwADEANQAxADEAMgAwAAQIERwnMTxHUlxncnyHkp2nsr3I:X4MB
<<< XIM4 END PASTE <<<

Also for Ads I use the hip translator because for some reason it seemed a tad smoother with micro aiming. I personally like a little acceleration so I don't have to move my hand much, so it if feels to fast lower the sens and adjust the curve to your liking

hip its stock with just 10 boost for the hell of it.  dont really need it

Keep in mind this may not feel the same as in the beta as they may change the look mechanic with all that input lad and whatnot. But give it a shot and let me know I will be using it day 1 and see how it is again.
