Hey

I've searched and cannot seem to find exactly what i need, which is info on:

Anything directly relating to getting a headset (with mic, wired or wireless, doesn't matter) connected to a PS4 with the XIM4.  My apologies if this had been covered but i only found posts for very specific situations, not a generality.

Essentially all i want is info on how to connect any type of headset to the PS4 with the XIM4 connected, so i can communicate via the regular PS4 chat.

I assume this is possible?

You will need a mix amp from astro or usb sound card, something like this maybe

I had mix amps for ever so that will be my suggestion to you. I know a lot of people here had great success with usb sound cards. Search for PS4 usb sound cards in the forum, I am sure you will get a bunch of hits.

logitech g430s come with a usb sound card its 7.1 though i dont know if you can set ps4 headset output to 5.1
coz 7.1 is not as good but that card/dongle allows you to use your old headsets on ps4

Cheaper to get a usb card online but if u need a headset and usb adapter these logis are on the highstreet saves waiting for the postman.

Although that link is not for a sound card but a sound adapter.  But Perhaps this is all that's needed?

For the record i have a Fiio Q1 DAC which effectively acts as a usb DAC (or sound card).  However it appears that simply plugging this into the second controller port does not work (i can get very, very faint sound from friends using PS4>FiiO>PS4 headset, but no mic)

Thanks thats some great info, although, with all due respect i don't really understand what you are saying.  I don't require 5.1, 7.1, or anything like that really.

I should probalbly have been clearer.  Really all i want is something that allows me to connect the PS4 mic/headphone with friends.  Anything that works with the PS4 and XIM4 is fine with me.

yeah it will work with xim dude and you could use your old headsets from xbox etc on ps4 too

Any headset that requires plugging into controllers typically requires a usb sound card for the mic to work.

If you have optical connections for your headset/mic then this is not required

That should work just make sure you have the latest updates for the 5.1 surround and give it a shot

cool nice1 venom  in all honesty Ive never seen this site before the prices seem very cheap
but  dunno if they are legit http://www.dx.com/p/5-1-channel-usb-sound-card-adapter-black-59039 £1.31 if that one works its a bargain,it  would not surprise me if maplin used to sell these for £80 ha

For that cheap it wouldn't be very hard to just give it a shot and go from there honestly. If it works great if not it was sub £2
