Sprinting in almost all games had completely destroyed my wrist. At one point I had to go for about 6 weeks without playing games which was like torture, because my arm was in such pain...it felt like it was on fire.

I don't know why the act of sprinting does it. I mean I shoot and jump more than I sprint (I think so anyway), yet something about the act of sprinting really caused me issues. I thought remapping it to different buttons / fingers would fix it but it didn't...no matter where I moved the sprint function, the pain followed. Perhaps it's my play style where I'm constantly stopping, scanning, sprinting, turning, sprinting, stopping etc etc.

Anyway for years I resisted the idea of mapping sprint to the scroll wheel - in my minds eye it sounded like an idiotic idea. I don't know why I never tried it but I just didn't, until recently. And, it's been like a revelation - it works amazingly well. The act of scrolling down on a wheel is very gentle and requires minimal pressure and almost immediately has solved my problem. So if any of you have issues try making more use of the scroll wheel.

I've had sprinting as scroll wheel up as long as I remember. I also moved ADS and Trigger buttons to keyboard as it gives you extra precision.

Is that question directed at me? I used to have it on the button on the side of the G502 (G5 button I think).

Then when my arm was in agony, I switched it to L1 on the Nav...I thought this worked, for a while at least, until the pain started to build up in my right arm.

If you get a chronic tendinitis from gaming that fills up the carpal tunnel you must change the way you play. Either try low sens with a Silicone pad unter wrist or High sens where you dont move wrist. Problem is also that wrist is in unphysiological position when gaming. Try a mouse that is like a stick upwards or at least where pinky rests. Looks @#$% but you cant go on playing with pain you will end up on the operation table of a hand surgeon and maybe never be allowed to play again.
Crusade atm: none

Yes but my issues came not from wrist movement but from too much clicking. So the objective was to find the "button" that required the least amount of resistance to "push", which lead me to the scroll wheel. Also scrolling also in some way feels like you're pushing something so metaphorically it feels right:)

Hate to say it but if you have carpal tunnel one day it's going to get so bad that you can't sleep at night without waking up every hour with feeeling like someone tied a rubber band around the top of your and your whole arm is on fire. The worst thing is you can't shake it off you have to pphysically stand up and walk around and let the fluid drain from your wrist. Try doing that every night and living life and it is brutal. You can get cortizone shots in your wrist that make it go away for about 6 weeks but they have their own side effects. I had the surgery on my right hand and it was a god send. My left will eventually need it but too. The surgery really works. If that's an option for you take it. Plus I got out of work 2 months the day I got my new console. I sat at home and played videogames and got paid for it.

If you use a Nav, why not Sprint with L3 like a controller?

The G5 button on the Logitech G502 is a really nice, soft mechanical click. Yet it still caused me issues. So you're asking me to use literally the hardest button in all of gaming? Because that's what the L3 and R3 buttons are - they are stiff as hell. That would destroy me!

Notice you have a Stinkyboard in your sig. Couldn't you map one of those foot buttons to sprint? Like sprinting IRL ;)

Yup I tried that. This problem came up cause I hit the run button too much, which therefore means I had to step on the pedal a lot. Let's just say it was a terrible solution!

But it's a different hand... or are you saying you have carpal in both wrists?

I'm a programmer so I spend pretty much all day on a mouse and keyboard. You guys that are having problems need to start doing carpal tunnel exercises. I do them once a week and I have no issues gaming or typing.

Yup. As I said in the OP, I swapped it to the other hand and it was fine at first, but then the pressure started building up again and I realised it was just delaying the problem.
