Halo 5 Sniper trigger delay?
« on: 02:29 PM - 11/07/15 »
After I've been playing the Team sniper this weekend, I notice that there's a tiny millisecond delay between pulling the trigger than shots actually being fired in Halo 5 Sniper. It's very subtle, but very noticeable to me. Does anyone else notice this? Hopefully it's not the internet, but there are times when my crosshair is not even on the guy and I landed a headshot.  I've played a lot of Counter Strike, and this bugs a crap out of me lol.

Also worth noting that every other installment has an input lag of 60-110 ms, and the same is true for Halo 5 as well; don't know by how much, but I can definitely tell there's latency in my shots. This doesn't go for just the Sniper, but every weapon.

I have my doubts it's the bullet magnetism that creates the delay, because it's applied before you have your reticle on the target. Even though it has much less reticle slowdown and magnetism than Call of Duty, which is insanely high (especially when you go into ADS), the whole idea is still pretty ridiculous, because like the ADS snap in CoD, it looks like you're not supposed to hit those shots.

The Steam Controller should be the new standard for console FPS, so that reticle slowdown, reticle magnetism, ADS snap, bullet magnetism, etc. doesn't have to be a thing. Not as versatile as the GameCube gamepad and others like it, but definitely much more precise.
